  • I'm going to back both. But I don't know if Dusart prefers this or the other race. Not sure what Henderson will prefer if wins well today.

I’ve got him in this , but I am covering for BANC, as I think that’s where he’s heading.

          • It's just quotes his Paddy Power comments from yesterday verbatim. No more.

It's a wet Wednesday in February. The Racing Post needs midweek Cheltenham focused material and this will earn them a lot of clicks.

This happens every, single, year. February (barring DRF) is largely a dead month and Ruby knows that controversial views fuel debate and views, whereas citing obvious targets doesn't. In some instances its literally a case of filling time. It really is a classic case of 'nothing to see here' IMO.

Bang on. Think the mind games have started now too. Henry saying JWM could run in the Ballymore where Willie will either have Sir Gerhard or Dysart Dynamo, and Ruby starts with GDC potentially taking on Bob, and the bookmakers react accordingly

I don't think the mind games ever stop do they?

Part of the game I suppose.

It's annoying when threads turn into endless discussion on what are effectively non-runners vs actual runners, and even more frustrating when Ruby's comments are cited as an endorsement of likelihood - rarely the case, he knows exactly what he's doing.

The worrying thing for me is HDB is normally fairly straight up about his horses and normally only names targets once decided.. so to name drop the Ballymore is a concern

                      • What racing "expert" with a podcast started the GDC to the JLT talk? Absolute silly season.

                        • I remember in one of the Racing TV's Road to Cheltenham, about 3 weeks ago, when going through the BANC, Ruby asked Lydia what was his price for the Turners. A week or two later, in another episode, she brought it up as a possibility. He seems to have bagged the idea since, and taken responsibility.

                          • If Ruby knew for certain Galopin des champs was going for the banc he would still come out and tell us the turners, wouldn't trust a word that came out of his mouth !

People talk racing trends but the most bullet proof trend is any horse given a rats hair of a mention by a podcaster for any race gets backed off the boards. I think it someone mentioned Jonbon for the Mares novice hurdle on their podcast he'd be backed into odds on such is the level of the blind leading the blind this year.

I would. Over 2m 4f, I just think Bob is quicker. Over 3m based on the current evidence, I’d suggest it’s much closer. To me GDC is a proper classy galloper and a gold cup horse. Whereas Bob has some engine and proper gears to him.
