Felt he would have a fair bit in hand if he came across a harder challenge

He's a good jumper to me. He doesn't seem to take any risks and doesn't lose any ground at them.

Maybe took it a bit steady to stay safe, jumped well enough and clearly has the pace and turn of foot to cope with a challenge

          • Easy in the end wasn't it. But was a brief second turning in I wasn't sure he was going to pick up as well as he did.

Hate this time of year when we omit fences in loads of races. Obviously I understand why on health and safety grounds!

If that’s harder than the Turners, we will have a walkover .
Surely there’s better than that lot he beat today .

His jumping was what I was really interested in and he was good i thought.
Not much else learnt for me. We knew he was good.
Guess we have to wait to see exactly how good.

Couldn't have said it better. Not just a bridle horse either, has a battle in him. There goes the 6/4.

                  • ….not so sure about Capo, I wondered if the tactic was to go out strong and run the finish out of BobO but was found for finishing speed. A steadier pace over further might suit, I doubt connections will feel they can turn that form around. He won impressively going 3m over hurdles.

                    BobO what a horse.

                        I dunno tbh

He didnt corkscrew today but I felt like his back end was getting a bit high, will have to rewatch

I thought exactly the same for a moment, impressive in the end though and i think the second is a decent sort.

If Capo stays where he is, he'll likely see Bob O's arse fly past him in March, most likely same scenario Vs GDC as well. Surely should try further unless connections happy playing for minor places.

Who do you think will turn up that will be better than Capodanno? I'd say Capodanno, Stattler, Jungle Boogie are all similar level. Haut En Couleurs maybe potentially better than them but I don't think so this year at least. Blue Lord and Ferny likely both go the Arkle. L'Homme Presse best of the British that will turn up and isn't at a particularly high level.

I think Mullins will be delighted with the Capodanno effort as they've smashed the rest of the field.

A lot of horses do that. I wouldn't be worried. He jumped well except for the 2nd last at Gowran and those are some tricky fences. I don't think connections will be worried about his jumping.
