Henry hasn't had an upturn in stable form so it'd be a decent statement if Bob O wins. Only master mcshee has done anything for the form of that Gowran race, the rest haven't as far as I can see

In fairness most of his better horses have not run so we shouldn't read a lot into his current form. He wouldn't be running Bob unless he was100%

I wouldn’t be worried about whether the form of that race stacks up or not. He’s not some unknown quantity who we need to find some substance for to back up what we’ve seen. He’s already shown us who he is. This next race will be much more informative than running against 20 mostly plough horses.

However for some reason Bob is the horse that has caused me the most pre race nerves this season. Can’t put my finger on why, but I then remind myself that he’s Bob fucking Olinger & I’m reassured

I’m the same Stormez… I think it’s because he’s my biggest winner and I have some big doubles and trebles which hes the last leg of. I think part of my worry is being the Envoi 2.0 - same race, same trainer, same good thing of the fez, likely same sp…. Fingers crossed lightening doesn’t strike twice!

Not a bad form boost for the horse you’ve hammered 16 lengths or so to go and win a Grade 1 next time out? The rest in the field I wouldn’t care about with a view to Cheltenham so the fact the second has done something since is all that matters.

As Stormez says, we know enough about Bob to not really require too much form boost. A better run and win is good enough for me.

            It’s a cracker of a Grade 3 that’s for sure.

Probably because I’ve got him in a lot of multiples & RAB’s, and with My Drogo not running he’s the only one I’ve got in the Marsh.

              • I'll go as far as to say that Sundays race will be stronger and harder to win than the Marsh itself. If Bob wins then a few of Sunday's opponents will not be taking him on again. I too though, of all the so called Bankers , am most nervous about Bob. I just think Mullins might try to do a job on him . For me, the best way for Bob to win Sundays race is to jump off in front and dictate the race . That way he'll keep out of any trouble.

Wow! You think this race is that good mate ye? Got to admit I’ll be watching through my fingers as Bob and honeysuckle is all chips in double for me!!

You'd think Lifetime Ambition would make the running given how he won at Down Royal. Don't know whether to put his recent performances down to yard form or maybe he had a fitness edge back in October when he won. Maybe he'll improve for spring ground but Bob O should be beating him. You'd hope Bob would expose any jumping issues with Capo or GDM

                    • I'm just scared that both Capo and GDM just might expose any jumping issues with Bob !! As you say , it's going to be a very nervous watch for everyone on here. Big piece of this year's jigsaw.

                        …Hills have GDM @ 40-1 & Capo 50-1 to win Sunday & a/r at the Festival.

                        • 1/2 Bob O for Sunday. Seems we all think it's a proper race as well, and fear him being turned over.

5/1 Gaillard e/w might be on my agenda.

Above probably aren't bad. Surely if they beat Bob O they go fav for this?

                          • Wouldnt worry too much about Bob's jumping. He's a very smart horse. And the fences around Gowran are rotten. I'd nearly be of the view if you make it around Gowran fences you can jump any ones.

Is that a widely understood/accepted view Altior ?
I’m about as far from an Irish expert as you can get but I’ve not heard that before…

Barry said something similar in the latest Off The Fence episode, which supports what he is saying
