Yes I suspect there was a little bit of trainer form concern baked into bobs price which has now lifted somewhat.

If the going is on the good side I can see GDC going back up in trip, very likely that Bob will have too much speed for him. Not sure why you would look to take on Bob when you don't need to.

…..a point repeatedly made by Dave Jennings at PP Preview Night regarding the GDC target is the Turners distance.

The Turners is run over less than 2m 4f, it’s actually 2m 3f+. The Martin Pipe was further for GDC last year, and he then stepped up to win over 3m at Punchestown.

Both GDC runs this season have been 2m 5F or above, so the Turners is a fair drop back in distance. From what I can see, you have to go back to its days in France for the only time GDC has won a race under 2m 4F.
