        • As a racing fan it’s a shame they’re not meeting, would’ve been a real treat to see it so early in the season.

But talking from my pocket I’m glad they aren’t going to meet until the Marsh!

Henry bringing over his horse, all of his own personal requirements regarding veterinary supplies, staff members, staff members fees……thirteen grand would just about cut it.

Point being too, Henry isn’t going to want to be risking any potential injuries, however trivial, to one of his ‘big guns’ for the sake of ?13k. When I saw his original entry, I thought ‘Why on earth are you putting his name on the provisional dotted line when you really ain’t gonna bring him over!”

                    • The JLT, became the Marsh. Now probably will be known as the Turners. I have forgotten what is called before it was the JLT. Hard that this races have little history and recognition beyond the various sponsors names. Even harder for them to get any identity.

It’s registered as the Golden Miller Novices Chase which I didn’t know until now. It’s a pity that isn’t what it’s more commonly known as by all.

Yes all these races have official titles that never get used, a result of long tern sponsorship in many cases.
Not sure I’ll ever get out of the habit of calling the Ladbrokes Trophy the Hennessy…

This race title had never had much of a ring to it compared to the big historic established two Grade 1's.

resonate with me, far more than

"we will aim at the JLT"
                              "the Marsh trip should suit"

Very true, but the race has no history, might be a different story in a few yew years when we can’t remember our names and we eat through a straw…
