That was the initial assessment. I'm pretty certain he's only dislocated his shoulder, and should be back around Christmas.

      • Wowsers, that is some race tomorrow that Bob is making his debut in. Its definitely going to test his metal. At least we'll know early if he is the real thing !

Outside Ashdale Bob who will be trying? Looks better than it is needs to be winning comfortably.

            Agree with that.

Some recognisable names but not a horse in it that'd be sub 50/1 for a Novice Chase at the festival based on form so far

Not sure I agree with myself 12 hours later.

5 mins until Bob Olinger runs.... 11/4 ante post for this race.

              Let's hope he gets beaten!

              • Bob Olinger is scary good. Was a stupid price for the Marsh already. Is he going odds on now?

Looked a barrel too. Will come on for that. Scary is the word

                  • Well you couldn't ask for much more than that on debut superb.

                    • Well, not a mind blowing round of jumping but a nice debut, nothing really to crab. Deserves his spot at the head of the market.

                      • Job done, can chill out a bit for the rest of the weekend now Definitely a bit of work to be done at his fences, plenty of improvement to come hopefully. Genuinely think I nearly shit myself at the 3rd last though.

Looked very comfortable. Could even do with another 6 furlongs

                          • Couldn't ask for much more than that for a starter. Jumped well in the main. I love the way he meets the ground, seems to touch the turf very lightly.

                            • Very nice from Bolly - a bit novicey at a couple of the final fences, but jumped soundly in the most part and the engine remains.

For a premier Novice hurdler going chasing, fair distance from the field where the jockey could've tossed his stick away before the 3rd last - exactly what you want to see, non?

                              • I thought that was impressive enough, that 3rd last was really good experience for him as he was approaching at speed having just kicked on, a lot would have fallen (like ashdale did)
He's got all the gears to my eye and that was a very decent beginners chase, with a proper finish to the race.
The only novice race I'd be unsure of because of the way he travels would be the RSA. Still looks to grip the bridle, arkle would be best IMO, but he'd win most I think anyway.
