Willie has won this Gowran Bumper tomorrow with these horses:

2019 - Blue Sari (2nd then at Chelt) - went off 7/2
2017 - Getabird (Memory tells me he was ruled out injured when Fav for the bumper)
2015- Stone Hard (19th at Chelt) - went off 10/1
2014 -Black Hercules (4th then at Chelt) - went off 13/2
2013 - Sizing Tennessee (20th at Chelt) - went off 10/1


Not checked back any further.... no runner in the race the last two years.

What does that prove, nothing really.... but every winner of this bumper he's had has gone off 10/1 or lower (bar Getabird who was fav), and despite none winning, is 16/1 worth a poke now, for a horse odds on tomorrow?

I think so... and I think with Rich Ricci going on RTV and talking him up, it leans me to thinking that if he does win, he'll take his chance with him. That is just a guess, but hopefully a good one!

think my caution is that this is rich ricci hyping him not mullins. we haven't heard him mentioned by mullins or Ruby talking about their best bumper horses as far as I know.

Would that really be a consideration for you? Willie or Ruby not actively bringing a horse up?

The bumper horses do their talking on the track, and I think if he wins tomorrow, the pattern shows he'll be a likely festival runner ... plenty of time for hype to arrive (I hope!)

yes it is...rightly or wrong.

he's less than facile vega was and I think we have three very good horses at the front of the market.

Happy to watch the race and take a position after on assumption front three will keep price honest enough

Mercurey 9s/10s before even being seen on debut is just horrible isn't it?

Not even against what looks a good field with plenty of potential and depth in there.

Anything less than an absolute romp and he should be pushed out surely?
