        Edit: 12/1 with Hills
        16/1 Skybet. Seems fair

Entirely possible re sale. Unsold for €7200 in August 2020. he's from a family that Peter likes (Sit Down Lucy, Lunch in Adare and, before them,Big Meadow) The horse should definitely cope with softer ground but not sure it will make all that much difference. Certainly the granddam's progeny like soft ground but Doyen's often prefer good ground so that could balance it out.
He will be a 'forgotten horse' come March so wouldn't be tempted by anything too short at this stage. Peter must be delighted; he's certainly able to get them ready after a break so taht shouldn't put anyone off.

“His first run was good when he was green enough and I think he’s progressed a lot at home. He’d matured and was thriving as we were going along. He’s a nice horse.

“He’s a horse that will be a lot better on deeper ground.

“The owners are from Athy and there is about ten or 15 involved. It’s great for them.

“He won’t run again until Cheltenham. He’s a horse that is going to progress with time.”

              • It's early days in the season but we've already seen two significant performances in the bumper division with Sunday's Punchestown winner The Big Doyen matching the figure Champion Bumper favourite American Mike achieved at Down Royal last month. The Big Doyen, a winner on his debut for Peter Fahey at Roscommon in September, was giving 7 lb all around at Punchestown and was sent off second favourite behind the Gordon Elliott-trained Cool Survivor, a stablemate of American Mike.

However, The Big Doyen proved in a league of his own, easily drawing 15 lengths clear in the style of an exciting prospect. The Big Doyen is an imposing four-year-old who should continue to progress but he has already achieved a lofty figure. Going into last season's Champion Bumper, only Sir Gerhard and Kilcruit had achieved a higher figure.

                • Bottom lines interesting, I’ve took the 12/1 Unibet as the 16/1 went earlier.

                  • I've been trying to figure out Willie Mullins bumper play and he's entered Nos Na Goithe in the Mares bumper at Navan next Sunday. This was one of the horses I looked into but was waiting on an entry, now I shall get to work seeing if this is significant

                    • I'd suggest entries for Pink In the Park are the ones you want to look out for if you want the winner of the Champion Bumper.

I’ve laid off backing Pink in the Park coz of Willie’s stable tour comments in the SP - are you worried they’ll miss Cheltenham with her?

“She was hugely impressive at Listowel on her debut. I’ve given her a break and we’ll probably try and follow the Grangee route and go for the mares’ bumper at the Dublin Racing Festival then come back to Punchestown, that would look like the sort of route we’d be going down. She’s from the Morley Street-Granville Again pedigree, she’s by Walk In The Park who I like, so she could go all the way. She’s a very exciting filly.”

                        • It's what he didn't say that's important. The Grangee route also included the Cheltenham Champion Bumper in between those two races CK. In fact she had races in Jan, Feb, Mar, and Apr.

                          • I'm pretty sure Ruby Walsh said on Road to Cheltenham that he expected Pink in the Park to go to the Champion Bumper. Assuming he has some inside knowledge and her entries (as Spectre notes) then I think she is one of the Mullins bumper horses for the Festival.
