    • It can't be physically impossible can it like. I assume it just doesn't have the set up ready like the other courses

      • The times I've been in the middle the XCountry always seemed worse ground, I don't know for sure but I always assumed they didn't have the same drainage as the course.

Yeah, it kind of sits at the foot of a bowl so you'd assume all rain will run towards the XC course.
I'm not sure of the dynamics around the irrigation but there is all kinds of racecourse infrastructure inside the normal course(s) it may be this is what makes installation of drainage difficult/impossible, but like you, I've had several visits to the middle and when it's deep ground it is seriously deep in there...

"It will be hard for Delta Work to win on his first time around that course," he said. "If the ground is decent he definitely won't beat Tiger. If the ground is decent, they won't see which way Tiger goes. He's flying."

                  • I don't suppose anyone knows yet what horses are in Gordon's Super Heinz? By the reading of this piece, Tiger and Galvin for starters. Maybe the full RP interview will fill in the gaps.

                      • The ground is already rattling fast. They need rain badly or this will be carnage tomo

                        • Did we get to the bottom about the XC course having no watering facility ? Regardless now, surely it cant possibly be soft by the time of the race this afternoon now?
Or still chance it can soften?

                          • They're surely going to pull Delta Work out if nothing arrives. He got badly jarred up at the DRF on similar ground.
