“He was fifth in the race last season and this has been the plan all season to send him back to Aintree. He will go straight there. To finish fifth as a seven-year-old was a good effort.”

Tiger Roll not running in the National, and Gigginstown confirm in all likelihood that the XC will be his last run before retirement:

At least I’ll be there on the Wednesday to cheer a brilliant horse on to retirement - let’s hope he gets safely round, and if he wins the roof will come off!

I agree man, gutted I'm not there on the Wednesday but will be cheering him on all the way in my hungover state after being there on the Tuesday. I don't think Ill ever be as happy to see a horse win as if the Tiger does in just over 4 weeks time.

I imagine chunks will now come for Tiger. 4/1 will be EVS or shorter on the day IMO. So few credible EW/win alternatives left:
Prengarde - probably won't go based on recent reports
Ajas - not even sure if he's still in training
Easysland - I can't see a revival unless its very soft
Coko Beach - won't go
Shady Operator - live EW player
Farclas - won't go
Escaria Ten - won't go
Midnight Maestro - wants it heavy and Cheltenham record not good
Floueur - won't go
Mortal - live EW player
Diesel D'allier - he's a 130's horse, Tiger would batter him
Samcro - won't go
Back On The Lash - he's a high 130's horse, Tiger would batter him
Bar - nothing in there that worries me.
Could actually turn into a complete walk for Tiger looking at what is likely to actually show up

Aye, agreed he'll go off much shorter. If Prengarde and Easyland don't show certainly.
I know MOL has pissed all over it now but the fact Gordon was relatively positive about his National chances today must mean he's showing some good signs at home. And he only needs to retain about 50% ability to win this to be fair!

But he is spot on for pulling him. Hoping Tigers story finishes sound and well in the cross country.
A racehorse carrying top weight in a horse race, regardless of the race, is not a welfare issue. End of story.
