Willie Mullins has nailed his colours to Chacun Pour Soi’s mast ahead of Energumene in the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase.
For a man who'd prefer not to let you know his order from the chippy until the moment he's placing it, Mullins has absolutely nailed his colours to the mast here. Says' he'd pick CPS over Energumene "every day of the week"! Bookies seem not to have reacted ... perhaps because it is squirrelled away on the SL website? When it's referenced on RP later today I reckon CPS odds will tumble.
Also say Asterion likely GC, but maybe Ryanair.

From Allaho's "GSI", The post race DRF interview on Vauban.
And Chacun today.
The whole yard have always hailed him as a superstar.
And whilst the question post Ascot had been how they try and overturn the result against Shishkin with Energumene.
Perhaps the answer is with a different horse...

Think you'd need Townend to actually choose him for the odds to really tumble though.
The CPS bet isn't for me at all to be honest. Be interested in how short he did get if Townend did pick him. And what happens to Enurgemene in that scenario. Getting him at an e/w price to add to Shishkin would be lovely.
Hopefully CPS gets a good bit of momentum but think it'll take more than Mullins comments, in an all round confusing interview.

But I get the impression they are pretty resigned to Shishkin beating Energumene again. So they could just roll the dice and try with a horse who they believe to be the better one, and who at least hasn’t faced Shishkin yet.
Personally I struggle to see what CPS can do that Energumene can’t do / didn’t do at Ascot last time in putting Shishkin under pressure and trying to get him out of his comfort zone. And at the end, when it comes to a battle there’re only one winner

He must show them more at home, and he’s certainly bloody good in Ireland when he races there.
If he showed that form come March he’s a threat and like you say he’s never met Shishkin.
No doubt some will back him hoping he can perform over here.

I had a good stab at a really nice market Paddy are offering. They are doing the without Shish + Energ market. However I may have totally slipped up. Hitman.
You can get him at 26 in some places outright but 21 wihtout shiskin and energ! thats mad.
I was convinved I heard hitman would go, but listening back to his ascot preview at the weekend he said only the old boy and grenateen was going. Cant think why i thought hitman was going!

I doubt anyone was really invested in him, but Captain Guinness has won today and won't be travelling over for the QMCC according to Henry after the race on RTV.
May go up in trip at Aintree.
