Has to be the travelling with CPS . His two worst runs have been when he's travelled to the festival. That can't just be coincidence. They do lose Weight and condition travelling and he gets affected more than others which is why they are going to try and do less with him pre Festival this year to see if it helps. Probably a year too late.

I do often wonder why they travel over so late in general, surely a week earlier just helps to avoid this issue?

Taken a bit of a walk too when you look at what he’s been backed at recently. Last matched 11 and looks like it may have been 12 or 13 before that (struggle to tell on mobile) best priced bookie is 6/1…… ominous.

Probably absolutely nothing, just the time of year, but Shishkin a little bit weaker on the exchanges than he has been in previous weeks. 2.5 matched on the exchanges and PP/Betfair have probably followed this weakness and put him out to 8/11 today too (although there whole QMCC market seems to have been adjusted, so possibly nothing in this).

I think nube negra is the play on the without the top two and will be keeping an eye out on the exchange to see what value I can get there 3/1 for paddy’s isn’t bad

CPS- big question mark over running at Cheltenham
envoi - don’t see 2 miles being his distance and think he will get swept off his feet if he turnt up
Funamble Sivola - certainly improving according to RPR but I can’t see the progression continuing
PTKO - Doesn’t seem the same horse these days despite usually coming alive in March, I think nube negra would be more reliable
Dunvegan - ran well behind CPS but don’t like the profile in terms of consistently running on the flat as well. RPR’s this year going the right way but at championship pace I think he will be found out
Captain guiness - beat NN at sandown but think tables will be turnt at Cheltenham and soundly beaten at DRF

Forgive me Rufus, and I’m absolutely willing to be shot down here, but surely, surely, those prices are specifically to finish placed 3rd ONLY????

If evens money was being offered on Chacun to finish in the top 5 (if I’m reading your assumption correctly??), I’d be certain it’d be the kind of price to potentially finish off a lot of bookmakers!!

Evens on Chacun to finish in the top 3 (you still need both Shishkin & Energumene to finish ahead) seems an unbelievably generous price??
