Wonderful news. That's what we need. At least we'll know before Xmas that Chacun is going Ryanair

I don't know how to word this, I've deleted and re-written it a few times, but Chacun seems to be being used as the yard stick for Energumene going forward to the QMCC. No reason why Energumene could not be sent over for the Tingle Creek if they thought Chacun was better, is there? Both horses basically took apart opposition at the Irish tracks last season, so it can't be a track excuse.

Reminds me of how they used UDS to collect prize money over in England before they ran a different horse in the QMCC, albeit it still didn't seem to work for Willie, as the QMCC still evades him, but hopefully you get my point.

I like that angle COD. Maybe Willie is trying to give Shishkin a hard first race of the season by sacrificing Chacun like Cyrname v Altior and leave the Champion Chase in March for Energumene or Allaho. He's desperate to get the Grand Slam.

My initial thought was that they would send Chacun over to see how he travels to the UK this time round? Slight doubt for him potentially.

Chacun jumps Shishkin into the ground and wins eased down.. There I said it lol

I was going to take the 8/1 offered with Paddy Power when they first priced it up but I thought I'd wait to see how others priced the race first, then bam into 2/1. Gutted

Also, what happens if Chacun is beat by Shishkin, do they bring out the 'doesn't travel over well' excuse, thus meaning he'll be highly unlikely to travel over for the festival itself? Just posing some thoughts.

My thinking is that they believe they have two solid QM darts to throw but the bigger question mark hangs over Chacun, if he’s beaten (comfortably) by Shishkin his season will be planned around other races and he won’t head here in March, if Chacun wins the QM showdown will be Chacun v Energumene v PTKO…

I've just backed Energumene at 10-1 for the Tingle Creek, only 1pt.

I took Ruby's mention of Chacun coming over as him listening to what Willie's already said in stable tours, and that he's the most likely of the 2 to travel over v Shishkin.
Not that it's a done deal.
I think Chacun is most likely to travel and if he does I can feel a big bet coming on (price dependent) - anything 5-2 or thereabouts on Chacun after declarations and I'd be 10 pointing it.
Don't get me wrong I think it'd be a coin toss, but I'd be playing the odds of course.

I just thought it'd be worth a point at 10-1 as Willie said they'd both be entered and as long as they are both fit at entry stage I expect they will.
With Willie, It will all depend on how they work the week before the race on who he sends over, if any. If they both look fine I think he'd send Chacun, but if not....

I'd be wary of backing anything from Mullins stable for a while bearing in mind what's been said re his gallops. Best to leave them be me thinks.

Chacun was at best average on his seasonal reappearance at cork last year and the year before he was beaten on seasonal start at Christmas which is why they sent him to cork last year before his Christmas run.

If his first run is against shishkin in the tingle creek and shishkin is even money or even slightly odds against he is a great bet imo.

                        He has other gallops though.
Logistically an issue but as long as the horses didn't have to work out the order and routines I'm sure they'd not have got too upset.

Sounds like they've had a new patch of lawn to me.
If Willie runs them, then that's good enough for me.

Hard to gauge that run in Cork really, and the previous year, Willie admitted he misjudged his fitness. The year before he smashed the best Novice chasers that season on his debut.
So it's not so much that he needs a run IMO.
I can't imagine Willie would want any horse he sends to Sandown for a grade one not to be 100% fit either.

The odds and who you back is a matter of opinion for sure.

But a Novice stepping into open company first time vs the highest rated horse in training. I'd have to look at the odds, but even at evens the both I'd have to side with the older horse. I wouldn't bet much though unless odds are like I mentioned previously.

Nube Negra run well there. Does PTKO need further now?

I was going to mention that, she does look like it doesn't she.

Would they put a former QM winner in the Mares Chase over 2 1/2 or go Ryanair. She'd have more chance of another win in the Mares
