  • I see Paul Townend is riding for Emmet Mullins at the Winter Million meeting on Friday. Could that be the main play or is it because he's here to ride a certain Champion Chase prospect on Saturday?

Mullins: "Paul is over for Energumene hopefully on Saturday so it was good to take advantage of that!"

          • Hope it is on for Saturday. For racing, I'd love to see one beat the other on Saturday, but it gets turned around at Cheltenham, leaving it 1-1 and a further mouthwatering prospect, when they meet again. Racing could do with competition and expectation such as that.

            • Nicky said on RTV that everything is fine with Shiskin, joked that he's still trying to sort an Irish Sea ferry strike. Really doesn't seem like he'll be the one to blink. I'm finally/naively starting to believe neither will.

                  • One of them (my guess Energumene) will be pulled on the day and the ground will be their get out clause. I hope I'm wrong, I feel it'll help appease the "there's more racing than just Cheltenham" crowd getting a highly anticipated match up like this away from the festival.

I do hope not. I want this settled now. Shishkin will come out on top.

                      • Hopefully it will happen. If anybody improves on the current 6/4 win today and for shishkin once they both look like runners I reckon I’ll get stuck in.

Yep, agree with that except I'm team Energumene. Let's hope this doesn't go the same way as the Ballymore discussion and we can see this match this weekend.

                          • Anyone planning to use Shishkin in multiples at the festival probably better doing it before Saturday with Bet365. He's 4/5, NRNB and BOG. So you've got most options covered!

Every chance he's 1/2 come Saturday afternoon... Equally if he's beaten you'll likely get the bigger SP.

Given the ground at the DRF will likely be even drier they don't have much choice but to run him this weekend

Otherwise he could end up not running at all before the festival

Both entered at 6 day stage.
Game on, who will blink first ?

This is definitely one for a vote Kevloaf

Who will turn up, and who wins if they both do.
Both turn up , Shishkin wins and Energumene goes to Ryanair......in my humble opinion of course.......no matter the result I think Shishkin will win at Cheltenham , same if any of them are pulled !!
