I didn’t want to back him, I just wanted to know what price he would be.
Now Farouk D’Alene ran so well in a Grade 1 then that horse could be Giggy’s runner in this."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

I personally think Ahoy Senor will be perfectly suited for Cheltenham, Kempton is tight. I still remember the big breakaway clattering every fence in the same race last year, he should of won the race but didn't. I think Ahoy will win at Cheltenham by 5 lengths plus. Today's result is perfect as the price has been pushed out nicely.

BMG has to come here doesn't he. Imagine Nicholls explaining to his owners why he skipped it if Ahoy Senor wins.
Cheltenham's fences are much easier these days than Kempton, and I think most of us would imagine that Cheltenham will suit Ahoy Senor much better than Kempton did. I think it's fair to say that there was a consensus that he might be beaten by BMG before the race, and then he'd reverse the form in March. I for one don't feel much different now than I did before the race. If Ahoy Senor jumps better or is less inconvenienced by the fences when stamina comes more into play he can definitely reverse.
I'm looking for ward to seeing what Galopin des Champs does now, as he has the potential to be the best of the three. I suspect we're in for a potential treat, and it could be one of the best RSA's for a long time.Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

I think if Ahoy Senor is a big player in the 'RSA' when we get to it, we can safely, safely say it is nowhere near one of the best RSA's for a long time too. If you hadn't backed him at a big price you wouldn't be as keen on him. In isolation, after watching that race, you can't truely believe he's enhanced his RSA claims at all, and his overall profile is one that'll come up short when he meets whichever G1 winning horse he meets from Ireland when we get to that point.
Neither have 'no chance' of course, but the "tough task/hard race for no reason" that Nicholls mentioned after the race, meant 'Irish horses at Cheltenham' and he's bob on

As for AS he could well enjoy Cheltenham much more than Kempton.....he would not be the first.

AS really disappointed me with his jumping and I thought the jockey overdid the steady pace which played into the hands of BMG. I'd like to see him run again to see if his jumping has improved. If it hasn't, I may cash out.

None of the irish horses we've seen so far look good enough to contend
That may change but if GDC isn't a natural then it may not
Weve not even seen a latest exhibition standard horse in Ireland let alone the next monkfish

I think the depth is great in the RSA. Fair better than the Marsh. Jury’s out on absolute quality at the moment but the depth is extraordinary in my view, certainly compared to last year. Potentially, BMG, Ahoy, GDC, GDM, Stattler, Beacons Edge, Fury Road, Capodano, Farouk … all good horses.

Having backed BMG makes no difference to my opinion, nor does it to Ahoy Senor Kev. My thoughts on both horses would be exactly the same either way because I don't attach any emotion to bets.
I'll reverse the question on you. If you owned BMG would you want to see him at the Festival based on what you've seen so far? If Ahoy Senor won the RSA, how would you feel if Nicholls had advised you to skip it?
Do you think Ahoy Senor will be a better horse being able to stride on off a stronger pace than Derek Fox made yesterday? Do you think he's likely to jump better over the fences at Cheltenham that are much softer than Kempton? Do you think he's likely to be a better horse on a galloping track than a sharp track like Kempton?Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.
