Willie on Stattler: "We always think of Stattler as possibly being an RSA horse or the 4m chase, but you wonder being by Stowaway if he has that stamina. I think we'll be going down that line rather than coming back in trip." Willie loved the way he jumped the last 2 fences, made up lengths. "...thinking wow, where did that come from?!".

FWIW Stowaway actually produces a fairly broad range I'd say, for example, Willies own, Monkfish, Bartlett & RSA winner, but also Put The Kettle On, Arkle and QMCC winner. There are more examples, but I'm sure you get the gist of it.

If he runs and wins well at xmas I'd say he's a certainty for the Moriarty at Dublin.

Galopin and Gaillard the RSA
Stattler the RSA, or maybe the Marsh.
Others may fill in to the Marsh, Ciel de Neige, Jungle, Sam.
Ferny and Blue Lord the Arkle
Arkle - Ferny
Marsh - Blue Lord, Ciel (Or Handicap)
RSA - Stattler, GDC, GDM (Here or Marsh)
NHC - Ontheropes (Patrick) & Capodanno (O'Conner)
I wouldn't have Haut En Couleurs in any yet his form isn't jumping out at you currently and hasn't even jumped a fence yet
Sam Sam has even worse form that HEC so he could just be an also ran somewhere, a handicap or stay at home
Jungle Boogie well we have to see him first, he's clearly not the easiest to train with him being 8 in a few days with only 2 career runs so far

I think it looked an obvious route given how he raced last season, but also because his owner seems to like the race.
It's only now we have seem him this season, where he seemed to show some gears, that talk of this race has been brought up.

Watch the albert bartlett, and when tested, he's got one pace imo.
Willie said the trip is everything, can't see that changing unless some extraordinary circumstances.

I don't buy that he is quicker cos of fences and think that race may have been deceiving, although I'd acknowledge he looked sharper, for sure.
But it was a beginners chase.
I do though, think they will be open to the RSA for this horse, and it is going to depend on how his other staying chasers perform.
I doubt they'll wait for the ten up novices in mid february again.
So it's Naas or Dublin.
If it's Dublin, then the decision is made unless he flops and they go to the ten up, in which case most would not fancy him by then.
Sensible thing would be to go for Naas and get him qualified then see how the others perform in Dublin, and take it from there.
