would be very shocked if giggy run two in the nh chase they don’t often like having runners in that race

Should be a good renewal then if we get Vanillier, GDC and Beacon Edge

      • Fun race to watch but nothing there i'd be in a rush to back. Disappointed with Lifetime Ambition.

It was soft at Down Royal, this was good ground today. I've learnt the hard way with Run Wild Fred not to be cashing anything too early.

Jessie also stinking the place out with no winners for a while now so stable is not in same form either.

Wouldn't be going in again on Lifetime Ambition now but happy to hold current bets as they are. There's a shit ton of horses still to come out so early days still.

I hadn't backed him yet but loved his run LTO and was hoping to see something today that forced my hand. Sadly not, but early days as you say.

            • Beacons Edge is probably a fair yardstick for this for the Irish, but I'd be disappointed if GDC, GDM and GDS aren't better than him.

Looking forward to the Xmas race to see if Vanillier can overturn the chasing debut loss and anything else that might turn up.

                  • Lucinda Russell just on RacingTV now reiterating that options are open over Christmas (only thing she really let on is that they are highly unlikely to be dropping him in trip, she says he's definitely a stayer) and that the main aim is Cheltenham in March. She didn't mention the actual target this time but at least we know it's definitely the plan to head to the right course!

                      Lucinda today......

Think she's decided against that now. Probably the right move as not his course.

                          • Yeah from the bit I saw she mentioned 3 or 4 courses as options for his next run but seemed least keen on Kempton as its too sharp.

                            • It was interesting what gavin lynch said about ahoy senor.
he spent a few minutes spouting chapter and verse about how fast his time was in comparison to 2 milers and the rest of that days card then suggested he’d get done for toe vs brave mans game at kempton !

funny how opinions differ as I’m convinced he’d beat him and that was without the clock information.
Aintree's sharp enough also and Ahoy mullered BMG there.

anyway they seem to be looking at other races now.

most people including lynch also seemed to ignore his habit of jumping right which for someone who doesn’t get too put off by this sort of thing, found it noticeable. And to me enhanced his performance a bit.

it will be interesting if he does it again at Warwick or lingfield

Before he’d even ran this season Scudamore was suggesting they’d go for the Towton at Wetherby - not sure if that’s still a possibility for them
