Thats my thinking too re the trainer. I don't think the price will shrink as much if he were trained by the big 3 even if he wins.

He did win his flat race over 2m and then his first hurdler start over the intermediate, he seems young enough and unexposed enough that the trip shouldn’t inconvenience him imo. His second point which he won was 2 and a half.

I always worry about any horse with RSA aspirations that start off needing 3 miles because they tend to be boats. Most RSA winners started their season over shorter and some ran over 3 miles for the first time at the Festival.

This tells me Lucinder thinks Ahoy Senor has pace as well as stamina, which is a must to win an RSA these days.

Dont think so Spectre. She's just starting him out in that race to give him a nice introduction to fences. No need to be winning anything this early. You know the score

According to Patrick Mullins in the racing post, Galopin Des Champs is going chasing and going to follow the same route as Don Poli

Looking at Don Poli’s novice campaign he started out at Gowran Park at the end of November, then went over 3 miles at Christmas at leopardstown, and then on to the RSA. Only 4 races that season with the final one at Punchestown

Ummmmm, that went well.......Price wise tips him up and the 40's becomes 33's in a flash and will go shorter again tomorrow when RP readers get hold of it. I'll just sit it out now.

I backed Ahoy Senor a while ago - not sure if any saw this video clip of Peter Scudamore back in May outlining the plans - https://m.facebook.com/freebetscom/v...7393402329738/
Mentioned Hexham as a start (looks like that could now be Carlisle & then on to the Paris Pike at Kelso (Dec time) & the Towton at Wetherby (Fed time) - will avoid the race at Kempton as Cheltenham winners don’t come out of it - fighting talk!

I’d take the quote as meaning he goes from the Martin Pipe onto the RSA. Rather than follow the exact path through the season. Could be wrong though. And might end up that way anyway

I was going to post something along the lines of this, spot on.

                        • Ahoy Senor now into 25's. Assuming this is due to the racing post.

Yes it is, and a good chunk of them have dropped lower than that.

If he takes up his entry and is declared tomorrow for Thursdays racing, then a decent debut win and 25s will probably disappear too.

At least in FJ we have had members flag up Stable Tours and The Big Racing Post article ahead of time to give people time to have bets before any price crash.

Sounds like they'll skip Thursdays race if the rains don't come. Soft ground seems important for at least his opening chase so he may wait until better ground at Wetherby In a week or so.
