  • It's absolutely a holding pattern quote. He's forced to say something because it's the press day but he will, as usual, not make any decision until the last minute.

Willie mentioning the Turners changes nothing, IMO.
The poster didn’t say it changed anything that’s my point so why are people saying it changes nothing ...he or she has just provided an update. Personally I’m grateful to them. If others believe it be an irrelevance that’s cool too. The reactions are making it a bigger deal than the poster themself which is quite ironic really.

Rooster, I think you need to see the emojis to understand Charlie was clearly making a joke of it.

Not sure why you’re jumping to the defence of someone who probably doesn’t even feel attacked and knows it was a joke (frustration I’m using this emoji as).

Because there’s are so many lurkers on here and infrequent posters like the op that when folks post with what they believe is useful information for us all I think it’s great for them to be thanked to encourage more lurkers to post and more infrequent posters to post more. I’m sure Charlie was joking he’s a great guy but in general (not aimed at Charlie’s post at all) putting an emoji after a let’s say robust post won’t encourage lurkers or infrequent posters to post more imo.

so I was defending the poster because I noticed they were a fairly infrequent poster and didn’t feel like we were responding in a way that encouraged them to be a messenger again. Of course he or she may well be 100% cool and I suspect they are (I agree with you) but it’s also possible they aren’t.

          • Full quotes from Mullins in the rp about gdc are pretty damning for his chances of running here. Genuinely fear he won’t now.

Very fair post that, I agree with context behind that. We’re all entitled to our view - some are wild, some info is gold, some repeat stuff, a lot of desire / pocket talk. All valid in different ways

              • Just be wary guys that the ground conditions will play a massive part where GDC goes. Hence not decision until Decs

If he’s leaning JLT anyway though, that inclination would be based on ‘typical’ festival ground, and realistically, it can only get worse, not better, because they’ll water to good to soft minimum.

If his inclination is to go for the shorter race I don’t think the ground could be a factor in deciding to go further

Yeah, he seems pretty certain on the Turners doesn't he? Will Bob run here now? I've given up trying to guess...

If it's a dry Fez then they'll anticipate it drying by the Thursday so the longer race may be felt more suitable. Nothing will be decided at this point.

Full quotes much stronger than the snippet shared on Twitter imo

Definitely doesn't sound good does it... Although granted he's full of shit.

L'homme Presse NRNB price isn't great unfortunately, otherwise I'd have a go. Can't see Bob coming here at all.

On the day of his Leopardstown win Willie said something along the lines of 'Paul came back in and said the pace got him out of his comfort zone' that was over 2m5 1/2f and the Turners is 2m4 1/2f. Also, visually, for me, Galopin done his best work at the end of the race that day. For me, it makes zero sense in going for the Turners, but obviously Willie knows best.
