After Ferny being injured, the last thing I want is GDC going to the Turners and beating Bob. That would be a disaster. I'm much happier now as feel Bob would would have the beating of GDC and Willie must now have second thoughts about the Turners for GDC after he mentioned his stride pattern was off due to having to go at a faster pace. I also think this affected his jumping which was not as good as his debut.

Today was a lot different opposition , and more pressure, but he still won easily.
This will run and run for some time imo, and still a lot more sweating to be done by some on here.

Willie on GDC:
Winning trainer Willie Mullins said: “I wasn't as happy with his jumping as I was at Christmas but then Paul said it was a Grade 1 pace today. Bryan Cooper got down off my other horse and said the same thing, they were going so fast.
“Paul said he didn't want to let him down to jump fences the way he did at Christmas otherwise he would maybe have been in front too early, on softer ground, so he held on to him a bit longer.
“He didn't go with them a few times and the horse was very brave and I was wondering how long that was going to last.
“They finished together, which is good, and both would have learned a lot from todays run against real stiff company. The horses behind him were really good horse, Grade 1 winners.
“When they jumped the second I said 'is there anything going well' and you could see all the jockeys were sort of nudging. I said 'Paul is still going well, all you've got to do now is jump the last' and that's what happened.
“My heart was in my mouth jumping those fences down the back whereas at Christmas I was waiting for another fence to come up because he was really pinging fences. Paul didn't want to let him do that today, he tried to teach him something.
“We'll just try and keep him right now and then decide where we are going to go. A lot of things can happen between now and Cheltenham.
“Hopefully we are sound and well the week before Cheltenham and we'll know then what's happening.”

I just can’t see how GDC doesn’t come here. He clearly is the stable number 1 over intermediate trip and a proven stayer over hurdles.
Willie wants to win the big ones and he’s the only one without any question marks. Similar profile to Don Poli through his novice hurdle campaign. That year we had UDS, Vautour & Don Poli, three serious 1st strings for each race,
We aren’t seeing him switch his main 3 miler when Bobs the opposition.

"But it’s all good in regards to getting all that education in, and still winning. He could easily go up in trip but I love the way he jumps. You wonder when a horse goes up trip, can they keep that up for three miles, but at least you know he’ll stay."
