Could well have been a reference to the green ones in April Aswel mind

Surely Fred's blown his mark for Aintree now - low 160s after today I'd imagine.

That'll mean he'll probably carry between 11st 3lbs and 11st 6lbs in the National which'll be a very tough ask.

With Galvin and Fred among the heavyweights I think we're now looking for Gordon's third string.

Farclas could be the one on a racing weight but 25-1 is fair at best.

Personally like Escaria Ten for it but I don't think we've seen him this season yet have we?

I'm not sure if you're on Twitter but the Mcneils are lovely people and very responsive when I tweet them.

My first reaction when watching the race was that RWF probably wouldn't get a rise for that. Was hit hard by the hike to 159, then beaten 8 lengths by Fury Road in a weak Grade 1.
If they put RWF up to low 160s based on that run (presumably meaning they think he ran better than he normally would) then does that mean Fury Road gets a rating in the mid-high 160s?
I'm heavily invested in RWF for the National so have a keen interest in this!

                • Well I'm absolutely kicking myself for not noticing fury road was in first time cheekpieces yesterday

He was clearly by miles the best horse in the drinmore but had no interest in going past gabynako then pulled himself up after the last

Thats properly annoyed me as id have definitely had a few quid on

I suspect in all likelihood RWF has probably run 4-5lbs below his very best, that would put his performance yesterday at 154 meaning Fury Road ran to a mark in the low 160s. That's perfectly possible, yesterday probably his optimal conditions and was sharpened up by cheek pieces. Could easily see him placing in an RSA in previous years and maybe even this one, his run in the Albert Bartlett showed his potential to step up over fences one day.

                    • Just noticed you can do the GDC to win RSA and next years GC double on Sky bet at 33/1. Are they likely to void it?

                      The special is 18/1

Good spot! There is a slight differential in the spelling (capital D in Gold Cup with lower case in RSA) which I assume their tech identifies as two completely separate selections. Almost certainly wont get honoured on related outcomes, but done nonetheless

Yup. I’ve done the same. Unlikely to be flagged for it as I tend not to take too many of these ‘clever’ bets, but this one is too good to turn down. Only a couple of points anyway.

It's a straightforward double. Select GDC from the RSA market @2.63 then GDC from the GC '23 market @13.00. Thus the concern that they might void the bets.
