    The races were different distances.
Looked at both races from the 1st fence in the beginners chase to the line. The Savills is about 3f longer and I'd expect a good novice to be slightly faster - Allaho and Easy Game were two years ago .

Having now looked at it in more detail, GDC was around 16-17 lengths quicker taking into account the 2 pound extra carried, but the Savills was pretty slow most of the way and they came home quite a bit quicker than GDC- around 12 lengths faster from the 3rd last.

Have they said what the plan is for GDC next? He did well not to fall in a hole today after the pace he went

    • Shades of Denman today from GDC, he’s a big stamp of a horse, very clever over his obstacles, Willie didn’t look in the least bit surprised post race, I think he knows he’s had this ability/potential for quite a while.

        • That performance by GDC was the best I’ve seen all season from any horse, absolutely obliterated the field & seemed to barely get out of second gear doing it. Looks a total weapon, RSA winner right there as others have already alluded to.

Yes I do, and yes I did. 33’s when it was introduced on the 24th October.

I didn’t feel I needed (seriously, seriously impressive though today, I must confess…) to wait for anymore evidence or a first start over fences to take a price - if Willie purrs about him in his stable tours as one he can’t wait to see go over a fence, that evidence alone is sufficient for me.

            • Just had a look at some early ‘22 betslips which I’d consigned to the bin. Monkfish was 16/1 for the 2022 GC on 31st Dec. GDC is 12/1 today. Both equally as impressive in my view. Another comparison, Sir Gerhard 20/1 for the ‘22 Supreme on 3rd Jan. American Mike and Facile Vega both only 14/1 today for next years renewal today.

              Bookies getting tighter again?

Realistically just responding to the era of dominance we are currently experiencing from Willie, Gord and to an extent anything from Ireland I’d suggest.

                  …..GdC won the Irish Daily Mirror Hurdle at Punchestown on 28th April when 13/8 fav. He had the likes of Vanillier, Stattler & TMSG in behind. That day, Sky had the following ‘win today’ offers for GdC;

win today & any Festival race @ 40-1

                  win today & RSA @ 66-1

Those offers were highlighted on here. We all know anything can happen but any posters who took either/both will be smiling this morning.

Yeah I had my ?5 free bet on the any race one

They both look like belting bets now

Though I do think people need to calm down a little, he did beat very little

Need to see him against stronger opposition before getting too giddy

                      • I thought there was some depth to GDC's race yesterday, a 140 and a pair of 138 rated hurdlers 40 ish lengths back.
Chasing of course is a different game of course but Blue Sari who has looked lost for a long time does have a solid run behind Farouk D'Alene this season which earned him an RPR of 145.
GDC has the look of a class horse, though I've obviously been wrong plenty of times before...

                        • Any chance someone can get Gallyhill added to this market with B365 before he runs on New Years Day? Keen to see if doing so will re-enable Cash-out. Thanks.

                          • Davy Russell seemed like he didn't want to win today.
I think they wanted the other to win for sure.
                            Which is good news.

                            • Fury Road jumped fantastically, seemed to make ground at almost every fence.

For me he is a better horse than RWF. Happy to have him in the mixer. He's a Lisnagar Oscar fall away from being a stayers winner in my opinion.
