Were we expecting an entry for GDC in the xmas meetings? Could it be the 2 and half race on the 28th?

Does anyone have any thoughts about Run Wild Fred here?
I know it shatters the NHC slips but after watching Upping the ante, I didn’t realise he wasn’t even priced up (probably didn’t look too hard for him to be honest).
I think for me I just don’t quite know if he’s good enough?! Although when you look at his form from Dec 20’ he’s been second 4 times and then won a big handicap. Is he improving now after all this time chasing? The flip side he was lined up for the Thyestes off a low weight, then a low weight for the Irish National too, did he not quite see put the trip? Winner was only 3lbs lower so if RWF was good enough he should have won imo. Better jump at the last wins him it? He absolutely bolted up the last day and is now rated right at the top of the tree.
If he’s declared in the Nevilles this must be under serious consideration, might be worth getting a price. Although it’ll probably be about 14’s I reckon.

I really really really want to pull the trigger on Ahoy Se?or @ 6/1, but his jumping going left-handed worries me.
I know he fell at Carlisle on debut, but I thought his jumping up to the fall was exceptional for a chase debut. He was really good. Massive tick, even though he fell.
I've watched his run at Newbury back a few times and appreciate now just how much of an engine he has. I have no doubt there is a massive engine there. We suspected that from his run at Aintree over hurdles vs BMG, but Newbury confirmed it.
The issue is jumping right handed, and making mistakes going left-handed. He jumped right over hurdles at Aintree and there's no escaping that he did the same LTO, but far more pronounced (to the point where the trainer acknowledged it). He met some fences on a lovely stride and jumped brilliantly, but was poor at quite a few, but jumped right at all. He's a novice and is still learning, but I'm not sure he'll be doing much learning going right handed at Kempton.
He looks to me like a horse that will be better suited going left handed. My worry backing him now at 6/1 is I wont know after Boxing Day if my suspicions are correct. If he wins, I'll still have those suspicions and he'll be a much shorter price. If he loses, then his price will be pushed and I'll be none the wiser re jumping left handed.
Anyone fancy reassuring me or convincing me? Go for it, I'm all ears....

I do wonder if the key part of the Kauto Star will be the early part as Bravemansgame with his neat jumping and effectiveness on a sharp track could put Ahoy under pressure, Ahoy will be doing the best work late on like Newbury if he is in contention.
I could see Bravemansgame winning here and Ahoy reversing form in the RSA, you might want to just chance a smaller bet at 6/1 with cash out?

I'm with Madmoose - I'd expect BMG to beat Ahoy Senor at Kempton before AS won any battle which may happen between the two at Cheltenham (I think it was discussed on here post-Newbury and Quevega thought AS would beat BMG here?)
I don't see a situation where you know that AS can jump as well left handed based on Boxing Day though so I can see the concern there and tbh I'm disappointed that they go right handed again, but maybe with a drift in price post-losing the Kauto Star it would be worth the chance? I'd like to see them go for the Wetherby Graded Novice (forgot its name) in February before the RSA to show he can jump well left handed.

My point about Kempton was if BMG beats AS (as I think will happen), it could result in AS drifting to a point where his slightly right handed jumping is less of an issue against the price he is for the RSA, but that I think you thought he'd beat BMG at Kempton anyway

It was just charlie getting mixed up in his last sentence I think.
I hope they both meet at Kempton as I may have a 10 pointer if the prices are wrong.
