funny how opinions differ as I’m convinced he’d beat him and that was without the clock information.
Aintree's sharp enough also and Ahoy mullered BMG there.

anyway they seem to be looking at other races now.

most people including lynch also seemed to ignore his habit of jumping right which for someone who doesn’t get too put off by this sort of thing, found it noticeable. And to me enhanced his performance a bit.

it will be interesting if he does it again at Warwick or lingfield
I agree. AS has plenty of toe and I think Kempton would see him to good effect. The trainer has said she wouldn't take him down in trip but I think he'd cope with the mid trip no problem.

For whatever reason, I can't see the appeal with BMG. He jumps brilliantly but just doesn't have the top class engine. I'd have him and Jonbon as the worst value favourites at the minute in the novice races.

    • Farouk D'Alene declared for the 2m4f Beginners Chase at Navan on Saturday. Looks a fair race to start off in.

Ashdale Bob, Blue Sari, Column Of Fire, Diol Ker & Keskonrisk also all declared for the same race.

I'm surprised Farouk has been declared with the ground as it is at Navan. He has always needed it Soft to Heavy from past form and comments before from GE.

Hopefully we see him soon if he does get pulled

Ashdale Bob had ran a good race behind Bob the last day I would hope he franks that form on Saturday.

Farouk as mentioned above will get pulled but if he runs I will keep and eye on him to see if he starts to jump right handed again, they were concerned about this when he did it over hurdles last season. I don’t fancy for Cheltenham but could be one for Limerick Boxing Day in the bad ground and ultimate aim of the Irish National in the Spring.

            • Farouk definitely needs further, but that was a good performance to win on debut. Didn't jump much right at all either.

              Sad news about Keskonrisk RIP

              • How is Farouk d'Alene still 25/1 for this race?

If you forgive him his run in the Monksfield, which I personally think is quite easy to do, he's unbeaten in 5 starts, including a beating of the Albert Bartlett winner. He appeared to be very highly thought of last year and everything suggest staying chases will be his game.

I thought that was a hot little Beginners Chase at Navan, and you'd have to believe conditions were right against the horse, which explained the drift, yet he still managed to get the job done over an inadequate trip on ground firmer than he'd like, after a year off the track. His jumping was a little novicey at times, but a big positive was that he seemed to jump straight most of the way round. I think his performance can be marked up and he he looks tailor made for this race.

Obviously he's missed the last two Cheltenham festivals, which would put some doubt in your mind, but he's still a very fair price. Hopefully its nice and soft at Limerick on Boxing Day and we see him there next in Graded company.

Have taken a little of the Blue Sari any race at 16/1 too. No idea what the plan will be, but he will surely head to one of the handicap chases.

                • I do like the horse but didn't think much of his jumping

Didnt look the scopiest, seemed to be quite an effort to get over the fences

will definitely keep an eye on him

Yes fair comment ff... I wasn't overly impressed either but thought it was 'safe'. And straight was a bonus!

                    • Had a little bit on FD for the NHC. Just cashed for 4 times my stake. Put a bit on for this and reinvested the rest on horses that i thought needed a top up.

                          • This race is shaping up like a potential classic.
But also possibly lacking in numbers.
If the 2 UK based horses avoid each other and continue to impress I could see many UK trainers ducking the race.
Obviously we've not seen Mullins best 3 milers just yet, but we have seen some promising runs from other Irish horses like Gabynako, Beacons Edge, Farouk D'alene.

If one or 2 of Mullins looks special then I could see some of the Irish looking elsewhere too.

I think what I'm saying is the four miler and Marsh might end up with more runners we thought might end up here, than expected.
I very much doubt Bob Olinger would run for example. (I never really did)

Plenty of time for it to cut up yet though.

You're right, looks to be shaping up well

Irish GDC, Farouk, Beacons, Vanillier, maybe throw in a Jungle Boogie

                              English Ahoy and Bravemansgame

I'd imagine by Christmas we should know the pecking order if they all take up their assignments
