    My bets on NOT TRUE.
Or someone missed a furlong out when they measured the course that day.
I'll start a poll, put it to the forum

      • Having thought about it,
It's probably better ground than normal on a winter only course, and is obviously the best quality race they have all season. And maybe not been around as long as some races either.
So it's possible. And probably true.
I wouldn't mark the performance up based on that though, personally.

          Definitely true:

On the same card, 2 races prior, there was a class 3 novice handicap chase over the same trip, the winner carried 1lb less than Fiddlerontheroof and race was run in around 4 seconds slower which prob equates to around 15 lengths ?
However, the winner was eased after the last and still won by 12 lengths, would have gone alot closer to FIderontheroof’s time had he been involved in a finish.

Sounds like a small sample size on probably better ground than noted.
I'm not having the time being a factor in judging this form myself, as the proximity of the other horses just doesn't stack up.
I can see people liking Fiddler's chances in the ladbroke if he runs unpenalised. He might actually be worse off though if he carries a penalty, as I think he only got 2lb. Not sure on conditions and can't be arsed to look cos I won't be backing him.

              • As a sidenote I was at Plumpton a week or two back, first time I’ve ever been there and looked at the board that puts the course record holders names in lights, don’t think I’d heard of any of those listed…

                • Deploy the getaway seems to be skipping hurdles, entered in a 2m 6f beginners chase at Thurles on the 18th november, if he turns out good enough could he come here as a wildcard from willie or possible NHC?

                  • Impressed by Vanilliers jumping there.. hard to tell how he’d have got on if six shooter had stood up as he seemed well fancied today but the trip was always going to be inadequate. I can think of much worse 16/1 shots at present, he’s almost certain to come here too

Have this been mentioned as the target DB ?
Always assumed he'd be NH Chase bound but will come here with a chance too I think...

                      • The further the better for vanillier they should consider the NH chase he needed every yard of that until his mate fell

                        • He was a good winner of the Bartlett should definitely come here for me, Neville hotels Chase be perfect for him next think he’ll be a better horse again over 3 miles. Jumping today was great and had the mare beat fairy comfortable by the time she fell IMO

I've listened/read Gavin Cromwell's comments this season regarding Vanillier and have assumed that he will be coming here. I'm sure I would have covered the NH Chase(which I haven't) if I had been unsure as he was definitely a horse I wanted to be on earlier based off his easy win in the AB last year.

Yes almost certain was probably the wrong choice of words as NH could be an option.. I just think he’s more likely to come here. Be interesting to see what connections say and where he goes next… an entry at the 3m Chase at Leopardstown over Xmas might be a clue

                              • ….not much in it but the shorter prices for Vanillier are for NHC.
