  • Vanillier jumped nicely on the whole and I imagine Cromwell was pleased with that return.

I thought so. You could literally see him improving jump by jump.

      • Ahoy Senor to take his chance in the Colin Parker. Win that and he surely deserves to go Brown Advisory Chase favourite. Some chase debut !

        • Thought he jumped really well there until the UR, hard to say if he was going to play a part in the finish though.

          • Ahoy Senor definitely wants further, lovely round of jumping and well at it til the pace picked up. Looks a fair unit. Unseated but did amazingly well to stay upright to be fair!

            • ….bits of Oddschecker blue for Ahoy Senor, best priced 20-1.

              • Jumped really well for first time over fences against much more seasoned rivals till unseating

                  • Jumped well enough but still disappointing, even given the fact first time out and the trip, i would have expected better than that.

Fiddlerontheroof and Espoir De Romay are decent sorts and I think he would have been involved in the finish. I wouldn't be too despondent given it was his first time over a trip that was too short and until then he had jumped well.

Possibly a bit harsh there. Unfortunate we didn’t see ho the race would have finished; but on the whole thought Ahoy Senor travelled and jumped well against far more experienced opposition.

As long as the horse is ok I think they will be happy enough with that.

He's one I wrote a piece on back in March when I could still be arsed to keep the diary updated. He's one of my three for this race and think he'll improve massively over fences.

I have finally pulled the trigger on Mr Incredible after a while, I think that may be down to the fact he's entered this weekend and I don't want my indecisiveness to cost me. Favourable write ups in both Jumpers to Follow and One Jump Ahead where the RSA is mentioned. The statistic about French Bred horses and those starting over 3 mile, whilst not having me panicking, is something that got me looking for a backup bet to Galopin des Champs that can avoid becoming another one of these statistics regardless and I have wound up here.

The write ups and the fact he has beaten two solid mares in Glen's of Antrim and Magic Daze before is a positive. I do view the horse as a bit of what I call a second tier horse (the level below the big hitters) but once the market cuts up a bit then 40/1 (365, 33s generally elsewhere) will be long gone and will look pretty good value as I'd say he rates a decent chance if he improves going chasing and has that little bit of luck in the race itself. Henry de Bromhead is a trainer I like and his staying horses in particular I think do well - he's not a stranger to the RSA and I think he will certainly think Mr Incredible as having a shout here.
