  • Wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t make it over… personally don’t think there is any chance of him winning this and wouldn’t fancy for the AB either.

would have wanted him to put more distance between his rivals today and jumps pretty high for me. Didn’t exactly pull away at the end either. Looks abit babyish today and could be one to put away for next year

    • Mullins on Classic Getaway:

Mullins said: “It was a very workmanlike performance. I think the hood had the desired effect and maybe he settled too much. Whether we'll use it again or not I don't know.

“It certainly did what we needed it to do and I think he was just lazy in front.

“That ground is very deceiving, it's much more testing than it looks. Our fella had a good blow after it and I think there is plenty of improvement left in him.

“I'd imagine we'll be looking at two-and-a-half if not three in future. We certainly won't be coming back in trip anyway.

“I'd imagine he'll be put in the Ballymore and Albert Bartlett and we'll have a look nearer the time. I won't make any decision now what direction he goes but it would be one of those two I'd imagine.”
Not sure anyone told Willie he's already entered in those races.

      • Nice boost to Walking on Air's form with Hecouldbetheone bolting up in a cracking renewal of the 'southern events novice hurdle' at Plumpton

        • PP cut DD to 4/1 from 6/1 for this, and push him out to 4/1 in the supreme.

          Probably nothing.

Get into that 4/1 then it's a gift if so

Could be because willie identified the supreme as kilcruits target

Makes it slightly more likely DD comes here (in my head anyway)

He's still 8/1 in the normal ante post 365 market.

Yeh. I've spent the last hour putting him in all sorts of combinations.

                          Hopefully?

Aren't you in the Supreme camp for him?

Not pocket wise just visually wise Much better off if he goes Ballymore though as Jonbon is a big winner potentially for me in the Supreme and DD is a huge danger to him. All very complicated!

                            • Re: Willie Mullins headline quote on Kilcruit 'set to go for the Supreme' today... after watching his interview on RTV (on this link - Punchestown news: Kilcruit books likely slot in Supreme Novices' (racingtv.com)) I think he was rather lead into it by the interviewer.. whilst he did affirm the suggestion, he then immediately added that Kilcruit was 'not going to come back in trip now'. He earlier mentions of the horse that 'there wasn't a puff out of him afterwards so I think he'd plenty left in the tank' ... which for me could still point to the possibility of him stepping out in trip (this is just my take based solely on the footage in the above link).

Well worth watching / listening to the handicap bit at the end with Kilcruit.
I believe him. Not even on his mind!
