Saying he has gears and stamina isn't a negative for his chances there.... it just sounds like you backed him for this race and the trainer disagrees
He's way too inexperienced for the AB isn't he? Not the type I'd usually look towards in that race anyway.

    • Anybody got some Sunday hopium for me about DD coming here and not the Supreme? Everything in me thinks he should be here logically. WHY would they send him there for a scrap to get in the frame when he has a far bigger chance of the win here.... Pleeeeeeeease. Massive Trixie hanging on it .... (Obv)

No nor me, but he'd be way too inexperienced in this as well wouldn't he if we were going to hang our hats on the profiles?

If sir Gerhard can win comfortably (I’m not talking demolition job here, but say 2l+) next weekend then DD will run in the Ballymore. If not you’re in trouble. Truly believe it’s that simple.

          • I tend to agree with ToniC. If Sir gerhard can get the job done with a degree of comfort I think there’s every chance DD could be Ballymore bound

I'll take you word for (the stats saying you need experience for) this race. In my head I've got a specific profile I'd look for in the AB. Where as in the Ballymore I'd be a bit more open. Feel the Ballymore is usually won by the classiest horse in the field. The AB I'm not so sure about.

Last 5 year old to win was The New One in 2013 and that was a weird year where most of the field were 5 year olds. They have a very poor record in this.

Every horse to win since has been 6 years old.

The Supreme is the perfect race for Constitution Hill.

Where was this said about TSL?

Elliott appears to have a tough decision on his hands as to where he targets Grade 1 Future Champions Novice Hurdle winner Mighty Potter, priced up at 14-1 for both the Supreme and Ballymore Novices' Hurdle.

Plans for Three Stripe Life, who shaped encouragingly when second to his stablemate at Leopardstown last month, are seemingly more definite.

Elliott said: "Mighty Potter will go straight to Cheltenham for either the Supreme or Ballymore, whereas Three Stripe Life will probably go for the Supreme. That wouldn't necessarily mean that Mighty Potter would be leaning towards the Ballymore. I'd imagine he could go either way. He's not as slow as he looks but does stay so gives himself options."

However, since the above I’ve now caught up with some quotes from the racing manager (for Mighty Potter). This won’t have any bearing on TSL mind.

"You could keep one of them for Aintree and I know Gordon [Elliott] mentioned the Supreme as a possibility as well, but the thing about the Supreme is that we've already got Mighty Potter for that."

On Mighty Potter, a 14-1 shot for the Supreme, Logan added: "The Supreme is going to be the best race of the week. Mighty Potter is a big baby, he's massive and anything he is doing now is a bonus because he's going to make a smashing chaser. Nothing worked out for him at Leopardstown and he still won. He's exciting."

                        • Lends to the thought that TSL may go the handicap route and then perhaps Aintree?

That’s a lovely stat but purely from his running style, the way he travels and is able to put a race to bed with his turn of foot (similar to the likes of The New One) is what I look for in this race.

Didn't really look a Ballymore winner but I'm putting it in here still anyway
