Hard to disagree, but at this rate Gordon could have half the field in Spuds

              • Any thoughts on Watch House Cross as a outsider for this 50/1? Has an entry on Monday at Punchestown and also at the DRF

I can't get the idea out of my head that State Man would have won easily... (with no real proof), but it just makes me think he'll be just brlow top grade this season.

Nothing to lose in playing NRNB markets on horses like this EW.....40s with Sky is fair......or over 100 on exchange if want that approach

Apologies I was going to respond sooner but got sidetracked and forgot to get back to you. So there are a few pros and cons. On the plus side he showed good resolution and looks sure to appreciate a step up in trip. Also Hiaou has subsequently come out and beaten a novice of Willies showing great tenacity in the finish though would question the runner ups resolve. That said if you go and watch the race again you will see that Jack Kennedy still hadn’t moved a muscle before he was brought down and so it’s far from certain that WHC would have finished in front of him.

Apart from Hiaou I could only find one other that’s been out since and he was beaten further than he was behind WHC. Also 4 or 5 horses finished within 5 lengths of each other and a few that finished close up had previously been thrashed by Dysart Dynamo.

Personally I would take advantage of NRNB as TR has suggested as there is no chance of pitching up here unless he wins nto imo. The other thing is the breedings not great. The best jumps horse his sire has sired to date is Holymacapony with the dams only other offspring being an unplaced once faced maiden.

                        • Thanks all for the replies on WHC.

The fact that caught my eye with WHC was that (if you take the race times literally which i know is a big if), he clocked by far the best time of the 2m hurdles on the same day. Two of the other races were won by none other than Sir Gerhard and Fil Dor.

                          Watch House Cross - 4m 1.6s
                          Sir Gerhard - 4m 5.4s
                          Fil Dor - 4m 11.9s
                          The Greek (handicap) 4m 4.8s

I know it is never as black and white and it of course depends who's there to make it a proper pace, but nevertheless it caught my eye.

As has been stated, i didn't like the fact there was a few of them in a bunched finish which is never a good sign. That being said with the time, the fact he is trained by HDB, has an entry in the Ballymore, showed signs of inexperience (was quite keen), yet managed to come away nicely in the end suggesting he would appreciate the step up in trip, it was enough to tempt me to have a nibble. Managed to get 110 on the exchange

Owners have Gerri C def looking like Bartlett.....Less certain where Grand Jury goes? Think depends on DRF and then ground festival week

Sadly, yet another one we are playing Bingo with

Was certain of that until a week ago. Now probably 75-25 Bartlett, if he doesn't run at DRF maybe 60-40 Bartlett and my bets running for cover!
