He's also in the 3 miler at Doncaster mind... AB?

Daly mentioned recently that there was a possibility of him going Aintree instead.

I marked his performance up a fair bit with all that in mind. He’s still inexperienced now but I’d be hopeful he’d keep improving and be at least as competitive at DRF as he had been over Xmas. The yard really rate him and I think they feel he’s better than a handicapper. The owners, whilst putting in a fair bit of cash, don’t have the numbers of others and if they’ve got a chance in the better races, I think they’ll pursue it.
I was hoping for an under the radar NRNB price on him... don't think I'll get one now unless he doesn't run at the DRF, I assume that is the plan though?

I don’t know for sure but I reckon they will let him take his chance given how close he was last time. I think both he and Mighty Potter need a strong pace over 2m as both will probably end up stepping up in trip at some point.

Doesn't look great race....HIllcrest maybe apart

Balco form is low 120's RPR so far....and so miles off Festival winner

When i visited stable few weeks ago, Nicky was personally going to supervise jumping work on Balco......got impression they were not happy with it, tho not watched his last race to see if there was an issue

I backed him at 50s as I was told it was the target and the owners were on, id be happy if he were just to take part at this point

Hed need to bolt up on Saturday to have a live chance

                  • Don't know if anyone had Falcon Eight for the Ballymore backed with b 365 but cashout was suspended after his poor debut but had been reinstated albeit for a little loss but better than nothing!

                    • So many people still tipping up DD for the Ballymore (including me) in the tipping competition thread! Feel like this has given me another straw to clutch too, for now at least

                      • Three Stripe Life likely to head Supreme instead of Ballymore according to quotes from GE in the RP.....

Elliott said: "Mighty Potter will go straight to Cheltenham for either the Supreme or Ballymore, whereas Three Stripe Life will probably go for the Supreme. That wouldn't necessarily mean that Mighty Potter would be leaning towards the Ballymore. I'd imagine he could go either way. He's not as slow as he looks but does stay so gives himself options."

Anything on Ginto and the Ballymore?

There is a small section about him and Hollow Games......

"Ginto and Hollow Games have the option of the Ballymore and the Albert Bartlett. We'll see what way the ground is closer to the time before deciding on where they run at the festival."

"Hollow Games will probably run again before then and I'd imagine he could go to the Dublin Racing Festival [for the Grade 1 Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors Novice Hurdle] to see where we are."

"I don't know whether Ginto will have another run before Cheltenham. He's progressing and looks a big stayer."

                            • Sounds very much like if we get soft ground at the Fez then Ginto will head to the Ballymore. Anything quicker and he'll take in the Albert with Hollow Games. Quite straightforward. I'll wait until nearer the time before deciding to add Ginto for the shorter race. Thanks for the update Gordon.

                              • Sounds massively like Mighty Potter is fav to head to the Ballymore to me with the doubts around Ginto and TSL going Supreme? Would make sense given it looks the weaker race by a fair way at this stage too. 14/1 seems a fairly generous price all told.
