Stage Star about it I think.

Got to be right up there hasn't it. 4/1 antepost right now has no appeal at all.

        • Jesus wept. This is a penalty kick for Ginto if Dysart and Gerri go elsewhere.

He wouldn't know which way Sir Gerhard went if he turned up here imo.. Sir Gerhard is blessed with so much tactical speed which would be the key. I'd even say Walking on Air has a massive shout in this, he'll get another run for experience in the Sidney Banks on 11th Feb then onto the festival as what I think will be the main British hope and not without a big chance.

            • I said it the other day, but the 28/1 with Sky for grand jury is a really, really good bet in this market IMO. His maiden hurdle has actually worked out ok and it seems now that 2 mile might have been just a little bit on the sharp side for him too. He’s achieved more than horses that are shorter in the betting than him despite their targets being much more open for debate.

The Albert Bartlett is looking a shade easier after today, although blazing khal wasn’t a red hot fav or anything and I doubt it will have much if any bearing on whether horses run here or there. But perhaps just another small piece worth considering.

I think wonderwall is earmarked for the SB also so should be an interesting little race.

I thought he had an entry for the 2mile race at the DRF as well, but his only entry is for the 2m6 one.
I had wanted to see him back over 2 miles myself but given that entry, i'd say it's definitely a fair price

                  • Just noticed bet 365 have cancelled cash out on Gerri for Ballymore, they appear to have a new approach any mention of a horse's target and they remove the cash out option. (Sad but it looks like the new reality)

Indeed. Paddy power a much better option for next year I think, they are slightly less generous with cash out if a horse loses than 365 are, and they cut off cashout around january/february time, but i'd much prefer that to this nonsense of horses being greyed out over the most throwaway comments about race targets. They are usually slower to suspend cashout on injured horses than 365 too.

Im surprised 365 didn't grey out every horse that paul nicholls has in training after he said "cheltenham isn't everything"'.

recently started using Betdaq too and still getting used to them but so far they're cashout seems pretty good, cashout available on all horses that I have backed with them, including ones that 365 have greyed out, not sure yet though if they cut cashout on all bets before cheltenham like PP do.

Can I check if you're sure about that RB? I thought they mentioned the Ballymore after the race, but I'm second guessing myself now.

                              • Thanks DS. I'm at an age now where it's entirely possible I imagined it, so it's good to know I'm not losing it yet!
