Hello Fat Jockeys,

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

Yards and owners like this would be entering them all at this stage.
Be interesting if anything is mentioned.
If I was a backer I'd be tweeting the owners.
You may well be right Q, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I agree - we entered Freedom to Dream to take a look. We will likely run him (he had a bad blood result when finishing behind Eric Bloodaxe) Would not be surprised to see JWM go the Auction race at Naas. It's 2m 3f on the 13th; the timing still works well and it would make sense to get qualified for the very valuable final as an insurance plan.

          Backed him at Limerick.
          Travelled lovely didn't he ?
Just maybe a little less experienced/green at the knuckling down bit vs Bloodaxe I thought.

            Definitely.
They must have a plan, there was a run on his price earlier this week so someone is confident…

But surely it would have been more encouraging if he'd been entered up ?
Gordon would want to be winning a graded race somewhere with him before March you'd imagine.
I certainly wouldn't be using that adjective.
Oh I'd only seen the 2m6f entries when making my statement, no entry obv not great.

Great to hear it from an owner's perspective. Makes real sense to go for the Naas race which would be far less competitive as well I'd imagine. Out of interest BOF, and no pressure here, if JWM was yours do you think he would be going Ballymore or Albert based on what you've seen of him ??

                • Agree that no entry for Gerri is worrying. Gordon/Robcor would surely had popped him in a couple if all was ok ??

                    Ballymore! For several reasons:

1)The time of the Leopardstown maiden was very slow; over 5 seconds slower than Mares Grade 2 despite jumping 2 less hurdles. (and also compared to later h'cap)
                    2) The closing sectional was 106% which supports the notion it was not a strongly run race and that he picked up off the slow pace

Put together I would be seeing him as more of a 2.5 mile horse at this stage than 3 mile.

In addition, and this may be me trying to justify my opinion. on breeding I would see no need to go over further than 2.5 miles at Cheltenham.

I can understand your concern regarding Gerri, I think like others he is Gordon's number one horse for the Ballymore and Robcor are not going to run their two best horses against each other. Henry had already earmarked this race for Journey so its more likely Gerri heads to Naas on the 13th.Gerri however has not jumped left handed yet so he needs a little experience under his belt before heading to Cheltenham.

You'd still enter them both though !
What if JWM is not perfect when dec's are announced. ?
or the grounds not right etc etc

Gerri not qualified for Naas as a result of being sold at public auction for more than 45000 euros

There’s usually a rational explanation for most things…

I can see your point and its a valid one, maybe now I should be concerned but I'm not, so buckle up and enjoy the highs and lows of ante post betting.
