Cheers. Could be saving her for Betfair Hurdle off 133. Race may be run to suit.

Not sure what that'd mean for her prospects of running here mind.

Are you not concerned they might bypass Cheltnham Benjy ?

      • After reading this thread, I’ve now decided that 33 is worth taking on EEB. She may not turn up of course but at that price I’m willing to take a chance.
From what I have seen I think the distance is ideal for her this season , rather than that of the MNH.
IF she turns up, she must be a fair bit shorter on the day, in what continues to be a wide open race.
Because it’s a wide open race connections may will go for this.
Worth a go dabble anyway imo

Have they mentioned that? Or just because Skelton does with some of his?

As much as I've had a couple of digs at the race, last year's Cheltenham bumper run has to be ranked amongst her best efforts. So there's no suggestion she has any issues with the place or connections running her there.

She also got an entry for the Mares Hurdle (at the festival that is), this week. The novice races surely much more likely (either here or the Mares Novice) but that entry hints that something at Cheltenham is definitely on the radar.

Not sure there's been anything said publicly to be fair.
It would still be in my thinking though...

Sound like you know something, so I might add it to my thinking... What would be the target? 2m 4f Grade 1 novice at Aintree?

I do think he will want to take advantage of her allowance at the festival and the entries and choice of race lto I think back this up plus she ran against the boys last year. I also think he is itching to step her up in trip. The jock had difficulty pulling her up after the line behind Jonbon,133 definitely underestimates her by some way imo and so it’s possible he will look to exploit that . Hopefully something will emerge at some point in terms of plans but she needs to be kept an eye on one way or another.

He did actually name check the mares novice hurdle some while back but I think the mid trip races are likely to be more on his mind now. The Jonbon race would have told him and the jock plenty I’d say.

                  • Personally don't see EEB running in anything other than the MNH at Cheltenham if she turns up. A fast run 2 miles around Cheltenham will play to her strengths. Was there when she won at Newbury and she did it very well. She'd have a much better chance taking on her own sex rather than chasing the boys around in March.

Dan said as much after her penultimate start. He suggested the new course with only 2 hurdles in the last 7 furlongs would be perfect for her and he would work back from the Mare's Novice Hurdle.

                            I know you've added a proviso.
But surely it would have been more encouraging if he'd been entered up ?
Gordon would want to be winning a graded race somewhere with him before March you'd imagine.
I certainly wouldn't be using that adjective.

Could go to Thurles end of Feb for the Michael Purcell G3? I know it's not an obvious route, as he's usually used it for Martin Pipe horses, but an option, nevertheless.

                                You'd want him entered. Nevertheless.
Yards and owners like this would be entering them all at this stage.
Be interesting if anything is mentioned.
If I was a backer I'd be tweeting the owners.
