I’ve just watched Ginto’s last race back and while he’s got a great big stride like a 3 miler he doesn’t look slow either. Granted he was beating horses whose best trip lies over further but even so, he was 3rd turning into the straight and seemed to quicken away from his rivals between the 3rd last and the last, before staying on to the line. Whatdowewant has been well backed since opening up last night but I wouldn’t be surprised to see ginto go off fav, think he wins today and probably brings the best form

His time from the 3rd last to line was much slower than Whatdeawant and slower overall despite carrying less weight. He just looked fast compared to the boats he was racing against. I think if he wins today, it will be through his stamina and not his speed but Elliott does seem to think a lot of the horse and he's had plenty of good ones at this distance.

      • Ginto into fav for the Lawlors now

        • Anyone think Grand Jury is over priced for the Lawlors at 15/1? Maybe the only at the right trip. Looked like he wanted further in his win over 2m last year and Ardla franked the form since.

Crazy price. No way Churchstonewarrier should be a similar price.

Agreed, almost by default of not like Ginto or HGs over the trip i've landed on him. He's overpriced i suspect anyway for the reasons you mentioned.

                    • Ginto done it well from the front. Great ride by JK. I didn't expect those tactics but worked extremely well.

                      • Grand Jury run well also despite stable form. This result should work out better for my book.

I think Ginto has just put in a very big performance.
