  • A lot of bias on my part I have no problem admitting, but Dysart looks a fairly big horse (he looked very gangly at Cork, but seems to have built out a bit since then), I'm just not convinced he'll be suited by a Supreme.

This is my own visual opinion. I have him covered for the Supreme when 365 were kind enough to drift him to 20's which made no sense, so it wouldn't be the end of the world but make no mistake I'd definitely prefer him in the Ballymore and I still would be odds on that that is where he will end up currently.

As others have said, it may just depends on Sir Gerhard at the DRF, but I have the E/W Double with Sir G in the Ballymore just incase too, as others have pointed out.

On today's performance I was very very taken with DD again. He looks a special one.

Yeah, I'd let it all settle down a bit, I find them more informative after a few days when recency bias has calmed down.

He's just won as he liked over 2m, so can see why this would be the case though.

          Dysart Dynamo: 3.47.9/1.02.8 (11-4)

          Supreme Jet: 3.58.1/1.00.2 (12-0)
For those of us that don’t speak sectionals, is the implication that he ran an efficient race without finding anything (or not needing to) on the run in? If so, that seems a pretty good Supreme trial on the face of it, doesn’t it?

          • What a weird horse.
The Ballymore will probably suit his jumping, not the most slickest. Also looks a fairly tall looking horse so Bally > Supreme
Then again, he's running style point towards a supreme horse. Probably a little too keen for the Ballymore, then again, all depends on who he runs against in it

            • I just didn't see why people are hanging onto the Ballymore with DD. He's just won one of the best Supreme trials with his head in his chest. I've backed him for both at the same price but have him in multiples for the Ballymore and have now put a line through those. He's a Supreme horse.

Because Lobos, we are stubborn and can’t accept that we were wrong!!

Jesus, he was impressive. It’ll be nice to have another Superstar in the sport…

Have you cashed them out? If so, fair enough.

I'm hanging on because at this point there's no reason not to and I don't see him lining both SG and DD up in a red hot looking Supreme when one, probably DD, could line up and take the Ballymore without too much bother. IMO etc...

1.01 they will be split up if sir g wins in Leopardstown… not going to stick my neck out and say which way

                      You really can't see why?

                      1) He won the bumper which Willie tends to use his Ballymore horses for
                      2) Market support over Christmas was fairly strong for the Ballymore
                      3) Ballymore is wide open, Supreme is looking the best renewal in quite a while
                      4) Willie will want to split up his best novices, especially given point 3
                      5) He took some pulling up today, there's no doubt in my mind that he'd get further
                      6) Smaller ownership would be happy with a Ballymore runner/winner, CP have already said Sir Gerhard is being targeted at the Supreme
                      7) He's running over 2 miles because there are no races over the intermediate trip

Not saying he will definitely go to the Ballymore, but it's a long way from writing it off.

                      • I've got him in both but mainly the Ballymore and I don't see any reason why the plan would change after that. He wasn't stopping at the line, didn't have to reach top gear and they said after the race he had plenty in the tank at the line. He won very impressively but the 2nd and 3rd favourite didn't run any sort of race and Gringo is a handicapper at best.

As others have said, he seems to race similar to UDS who was just as effective up in trip. The real good ones as novices will win from 2 miles to 2 and a half miles no problem.

This may change if none of Mullins win at the DRF, but if Sir Gerhard or El Fabiolo don't win at the DRF over 2m, who is to say they'll win at Cheltenham im the Ballymore.

They should open a market for which race he will run in.

Nope. They'll both go Supreme if SG wins at DRF. That's the race they are most likely to win. Don't see either of them staying 2 1/2 around Cheltenham in a Ballymore imo.

absolutely no chance IMO and think I’d be in the majority to think that

                            • I see no reason why DD comes here after todays performance.

Clearly hes a free going type. To think he can sustain that gallop over 2 mile 5 is unthinkable.

Run him here they will need to completely change his running style.

Be silly to do so in my opinion.

This is not pocket talk as i don't have him covered in either race but id say he's a 100% a supreme horse.

I not so sure. Both look proper 2 mile specialist to my eye. No point moving them to a race that won't suit regardless of them both being in the same stable. Different ownership which is a huge factor as well. SG might yet get stuffed in the DRF race anyway so very premature. Let it all unfold.
