  • Plus being out of Westener the step up in trip should suit if he isn’t so keen like he has been in some of his races.

    • Out of interest
has Willie ever sent a horse to Cheltenham to the ballymore having been unbeaten at 2 miles and never ran over further ?
      I don’t know.

      • In fact has any trainer done it ?

        • Talk of Willie avoiding Nicky’s is probably wide of the mark I think.
He will have respect for sure but he’d take them on.

Not quite what you asked but Yorkhill won a maiden over 2 and a half, then won the Tolworth over 2, then won the Ballymore. So did run over 2 and a half but the race before the festival was 2m.

Reminds me when I was labouring for a painter and decorator and this other kid who was doing the same was sent to the shop.
the gaffer sent him for 10 benson & hedges - but told him if they haven’t got them to get anything.

he came back with a Kit Kat and a sausage roll.

Yep, straight from a maiden on February 13th.
Maybe we've not seen the Mullins ballymore horse yet ?

                      • I do hope you guys are correct and DD goes Ballymore and JWM goes Albert. I've got myself in a good position for those races but the main point is, I've trusted you and did my wife's retirement Yankee with the two horses going the way you think they are . If they don't then I'll send her round your houses to sort you out.

                          • Check out our star columnist on his weekend runners including two in action in a fascinating Sky Bet Moscow Flyer Novices' Hurdle at Punchestown.

Interesting bits here, I know we have to take trainers comments with a pinch of salt but thought I'd share. I thought it was interesting he wouldn't be surprised if Hawai Game won the Moscow Flyer despite "looking second string". I know we've gone over the whole "plan b" debate about Willie's horses but Hawai Game isn't one I've seen discussed much here, with a decent run I don't see any reason why this one couldn't go along with Sir Gerhard and/or El Fabiolo and let Dysart Dynamo and Whatdeawant have a crack at the Ballymore. This race could be quite telling.
