  • Whatdeawant is going Ballymore come hell or high water as the owners sponsor the race. Even Willie joked that there's no way he'll go to the Bartlett even if he looks like he'd be better further.

Wouldn't surprise me if HG gets withdrawn late.

When did he say that Altior? Obviously I know he had name checked the race because of the owners but hadn’t seen a quote referencing ‘even if he looks like he’d be better over further’.

Thanks for spotting this Eggs. Jumped on 50’s the second you said it cause I saw Hills had 20’s which was a little thin. I have Hollow Games in this at 50’s too so I feel like I’d be mad not to cover Ginto, I just really really like Whatdeawant

            • The Ginto fan club are small, but pleased to see him into fav for tomorrow.

Hollow Games staying on strongly is still the best result

                I second that.

I have no positive or strong opinion on whether any of them can/will win the Ballymore, so I’m going to let the race play out and reveal its story.

I have Hollow Games for the A.B big time, and Ginto less so.

So them being a 1-2 will cement them as true Grade 1 horses, and I will happily take Hollow Games as a staying on second tomorrow, behind his stablemate.

                • ….with Hollow Games as big as 33-1 for the Ballymore & a best price 8-1 for AB, the firms seem convinced of his target.

                  My ideal Lawlors scenario;
Whatdeawant going on at the 2nd last in the Lawlors, closely pursued by Ginto with Hollow Games not able to go with them. Whatdeawant impressively extends his lead over the last and wins comfortably, Hollow Games stays on strongly past a tiring Ginto on the run-in to finish 2nd.

                  Please.

I wrote a post a long while back (can’t easily search for it) when Ginto went through the sales saying he’d be my Ballymore horse for this season. He disappointed me in his bumpers and I decided I’d not back him over hurdles and wait for chasing. He’s now proven he can make a mark over hurdles but his price has gone for me and I have others in his place. I’ve said it a few times but I wouldn’t back either Ginto or Hollow Games for the Ballymore but Hollow Games is one of my best for the AB. Selfishly I want Hollow Games to go there but I’d also like to see him run competitively today too as he'll need to if he’s going to be involved in March.

                    • Really looking forward to the Lawlor's. Ideal scenario is Whatdeawant wins impressively, with HG staying on for 2nd. Whatdeawant is taking all the blue today which is nice to see, and I wouldn't be surprised with Davy up top HG to see him flip flop at the top of the market with Ginto.

he started favourite, which was ridiculous, and they've already flip flopped.

So you think they'll flip flop again ?

                            • Maybe one for stupid questions, but was Ginto given a UK mark when he was entered for the Challow?
If he was, was Gordon fishing for a mark for the MP?

I doubt it now. Just reading Gordons comments in the RP and they're more Ginto weighted than HG
