Looks like Ginto will definitely run in the Lawlors and maybe Hollow Games.

Gordon keeps on saying that Ginto is more for the future and a chaser. He is definitely a future Good Cup horse in Gordon’s eyes and he thinks he is better than Hollow Games.

It’s just whether they both go Cheltenham and what races they go for if they do go there

If you want HG in the AB then you would hope that Ginto or an other will win on Sunday instead. It’s been such a good trial for the Ballymore this race.

I really do think that Ginto is a stayer, he has looked it every time he’s raced to me. Got out done in his bumper for speed by Whatdeawant and stayed on well for second. Then has stayed on well in all his wins since.

I just get the feeling Gordon thinks the lad is the next Envoi/Samcro/Don Cossack and rates him more than HG as for one he shows nothing at home. If that’s the case he should win on Sunday and book his place in the Ballymore with HG going the AB. Although will Ginto have the speed for this or the Ballymore?

I'm hoping they both get smashed up so they both go to 3m.

Hollow Games time figures have been awful and you'd have to hope a stronger pace will see him to best effect at this trip.

I think Whatdeawant should confirm his bumper form with Ginto.

It will be interesting to see the final dec's and the opening odds as there could be some value in this race.

Looks like Gordon has been planning this all season with he separate jockies on each horse throughout the season. Hopefully they can both be beaten and go to the AB now

The ground will suit them sadly, could of done with Grand Jury winning to push the Morans down the AB route and would leave JWM for the AB with Grand Jury Neptune.

They were probably both bought to be staying chasers in the future. Whether either are good enough it's very much in the air at this stage.

Yeah we don't know yet but Gordon talks him up just as much as he did with the other previous big names and he see's more of him than any of us.

Are you now thinking JWM Ballymore?? I have managed to get myself in a very good position with him for the longer race now as well as the Ballymore. Personally think the Ballymore looks the less deep race as it stands. Would like Hollow Games and JWM to avoid each other from a selfish point of view.

The race tomorrow will have a huge affect on the Ballymore and maybe the AB. The winner will become one of the favorites for the Ballymore and currently it could be one of about 4 horses that wins tomorrow.

Scenarios:

Grand Jury Wins - Him to the Ballymore, WDW Ballymore and then the Morans horses to AB (or just one of them). JWM then to AB and Gerri could go either, none or handicap. Then also Gordon may step one of TSL (more likely) or MP up to the Ballymore

Whatdawant Wins - Ballymore (looks like he'll go the Ballymore whatever happens) then same as above for the Moran horse's and Elliot horses. Grand Jury could go anywhere then and JWM could go Ballymore

For me my ideal scenario would be Grand Jury to win but I think that is one of the least likely scenario of the 4

Definitely talks of Ginto more highly than HG. He always talks more about Ginto when asked about the two and he's done that in a few interviews now. Plus in the last one I saw he says that HG doesn't do much at home

Good post, I think Gerri Colombe also further complicates the issues for us as punters. Would love to have these problems as an owner/trainer.
