Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

    His breeding is not great/unusual.
His profile actually looks more suited to the bartlett.
Fair comments. I would be interested on soft or worse.
    Unusual sounds great to me.

    • Apologies if you've also seen this on the thread for the latest podcast, but for anyone interested in Nickle Back, I sent the trainer an email a few days ago to see if he's likely to be running again soon, as I'd seen that he'd previously been entered at Cheltenham and Plumpton but not declared, and wondered if she was able to share whether this was due to any setback, or the unseasonably firm ground. Sarah was good enough to come back to me and say that it was purely down to not wanting to risk him at this stage on faster ground, and that he was likely to be seen again around Christmas

      • ….interested in Whatdeawant for this ahead of its seasonal debut today.

Mullins has already mentioned this as a target as it’s owner sponsors the race, 50-1 with 365 could look very big by lunchtime and if it doesn’t there’s always cash out.

        • No idea what to make of Whatdeawant (not good enough to win this, probably) there impressive what he found late on. Step up in trip looks likely.

….60-1 with boost for AB with Lads seems big, 25 elsewhere. Into 33-1 Ballymore.

As you say, difficult what to say about that performance doing it’s best work after the last is encouraging for Cheltenham. Mullins has name checked the Ballymore, interesting what is said post-race, especially if they think it will improve lots for that.

Was well backed today the money was down… plenty of toe to win today. Be interesting to see where he goes next as I think he might want further

              • Flew home at any rate. The sponsor connection has me leaning towards the Ballymore. Cut to 33s with b365 since this morning.

                  • Whatdeawant looked fairly impressive there and I don't think he will need to step up in trip.

If we compare to Ginto over the same course and distance:

From the first hurdle to the finish, WDAW and Ginto were pretty much equal despite WDAW carrying 9 pounds more.

However, the races were run differently.

From the first hurdle to the 5th from last hurdle, Ginto was around 13 and a half lengths ahead.

From that hurdle to the 3rd last, WDAW was actually around 15 and a half lengths quicker than Ginto - COF race was around 8 lengths quicker than Ginto in this section so they were quite slow but it's still a significant amount of ground to make up and shows how quickly the 2nd and 3rd went from the front in this section. It looks like WDAW was outpaced slightly in this section as he wasn't closing them down but the front 2 were going quickly.

After the 3rd last, WDAW jinked to the left and lost some ground and momentum.

Ginto made up 3 and a quarter lengths from the 3rd last to the last, with WDAW then around 1 and a quarter lengths quicker to the line.

WDAW showed some good mid race pace, lost momentum after the 3rd last and has picked up again. He showed stamina and pace and the Ballymore looks ideal to me.

Willie's look like they need the run and further improvement should be expected. I wouldn't make him one of the favourites for this at the moment but the 33s still available is far too high.

                    • No doubt covered in the supreme thread, i.e Dysart Dynamo's chances, but no mention here, so will add think he looks a tailor made ballymore horse and hopeful he'll be aimed at the lawlors.

Could end up in the lawlors by default as it seems someone simply forgot to enter him for the 2 mile race at Xmas of course there’s always the option to supplement him for that, or wait for the Moscow flyer, but I’d be surprised if he didn’t at least get an entry for the lawlors when they come out this week.

                        • Just watched Constitution Hills run yesterday

Thought he settled very nicely and absolutely powered up the sandown hill

he is firmly on my radar for this atm, I see no reason to think that might I hasnt run his race

Be interesting to see where they go next

                          • Was Might I meant to be some sort of star? All I know is David Jennings tipped it up at a daft price and he was well beaten in his final bumper run by horses who arent anything special. He then won an average enough looking race on debut well. No idea how constitution hill has gone to 5s off the back of beating him.

Id take 25s on Mighty Potter rather than the 5s best price (general 4s now!) Constitution hill, well underpriced for me.

MP best priced 16s for this. CH looks very good doesn't he, could come here instead. Just feel Dysart looking best suited to this. Need to see CH run again but by that time probably too late!
