9 of the last 10 had won over at least 2m 4f previously... Think that suggests it's not as simple as picking the fastest 2 miler.

Let's put it another way.
Which horse ? that's set to run in the ballymore, do you think could win a Champion Hurdle next year ?
If anyone had to choose one.
Every single person would pick the same horse.
The best 2 milers usually go for the Supreme, it's circumstances this season that means one of them is going a bit further.
If they'd gone another half mile at Leopardstown the last day, they would not have got to him.

I expect Sir Gerhard will go off around 8/13.
Race looks there for the taking.
He’s got by far the best piece of form, of course over 2 miles.
But ground shouldn’t make it an extreme test.
He was pulling away the last day, beating the horse (TSS) who may well be his biggest danger again here.
And who I’d argue would be best over 2 miles in a Supreme himself. Next up you have JWM who should really be going 3 miles.
In fact I think plenty in the race probably aren’t running over their ideal trip. He’s just imo by some way the best novice in the field.
There are stronger odds on fancies through the week.
And not all the shorties win.
can see why you’d want to be against him.
But I can’t see him beat

By sending Dysart to the Supreme I think we know what horse will be going down the CH route for Mullins next year.

no one in their right minds would pick any of the others.

Sir G would obviously be the pick of this lot for next year's champion hurdle. Particularly when he's outstayed here
Ballymore not the Champion Hurdle trial it once was imo. Far more winners and placed horses are two and a half or three miles now imo

You backed Ballyandy didn't you ?
