  • The fact that Hendo is actually running an inexperienced novice is unusual and imo a positive as to his ability.
Exciting and intrigue for the race.

This is a fair point. This is VERY un Henderson like. Take from that what you may but it is not unreasonable to take it as a positive for this reason. Many on here are experts at reading between the lines with Willies novices, personally I am below the average level for this forum on that front but at least average with Henderson’s novices and have no doubt at all that if he is willing to do it it is because he has considerable belief the horse can handle it as he almost always takes an overly cautious stance with his novices.

he has understandably received much stick for being overly protective of horses so it resonates quite strongly that he appears not to be shirking the challenge with this fella despite folks understandably and correctly saying his prep is far from ideal. That feels like a clue to me.

      • Skytastic and Scarface looked quite good there.

Won't be fancied and no need to get on 'early' as they'll likely be big prices on the day, but Skytastic lovely hurdler and both seemed to have a good attitude there.

          Skytastic could dodge Cheltenham..

"Cheltenham a sharp track and might suit a galloping track like Aintree better"

          Huh?

They should rename Aintree as the British national hunt racing championships.

That price is not very good is it ?
He has next to no chance in the ballymore and would be 25-1 plus if he lined up.

He's won that off 127 hasn't he...Even if he goes up a stone for it, he's below the class needed to win this isn't he?

Martin Pipe might be more interesting for him?

NRNB of course so no harm

                    • Agree with Kev - one of the 2.5m handicaps surely. Will put him up probably more than he should; race fell apart and lot of horses out of form or unsuited by ground (and they did go quick) Couldn't have done it better though.

Well it’s the best available. He’s a fast improving sort I suspect.
I don’t mind a bit of a punt at those odds.
                        Just never know.

The Saturday price moves on certain horses 9 times out of ten are muggy.
                          Especially ITV stuff.

Probably right , but god knows how good he could be.

As I said before, I’ve been looking for possibles against the more obvious ones that I have not been that impressed with.
He looks capable of a lot more.

I appreciate your view & he’s clearly ahead of his mark. But he’s beat an exposed 141 handicapper getting a stone on terrible ground. On reflection, how would you expect any of those in & around him in the Ballymore betting to have got on under similar conditions? I’d expect the same if not even more impressive. Personally, I think he’s a player in the Pipe but can’t see him winning it
