I’ve never believed they are winding down, I just think they realised they bought too much shit so were taking a step back for a bit

Fred won't run in the Irish National, he did it last year off 140.

        This year he's off 158.

The normal M.O. for the stable is to hit the Irish National with some novices with good lower marks that can't get into the Grand National.

Then the next year, if they have higher marks 146+ they go to the Grand National.

Braeside and Run Wild Fred are the next in that line for Aintree.

The way Gordon spoke effusively about them and their GB marks at the Aintree weights day on Tuesday, then their not going to Fairyhouse; they're going to Aintree.

The only one going to Fairyhouse for Gordon with a NHC entry would be Frontal Assault.

If that is the plan for him then he possibly wouldn't run at Cheltenham anyway, as if he did and went up in the weights then he would carry more in the Irish National.

The Irish National weights come out after the Cheltenham Festival.

Coko Beach and RWF were diverted from Cheltenham to the Irish National last year to keep their lower marks intact.

              • With the course partly waterlogged this morning and it continuing raining off and on today, while tomorrow looks dry but with the odd shower, the course will be still very testing on Tuesday.

I'd be expecting a good few withdrawals on Tuesday morning.

                  So would I.

Will be interesting to see who runs.

25/1 available, when Galahad Quest and Braeside go in on the first day, we'll all wish we had the double.
I must be the only person who doesn't fancy Braeside or Galahad Quest but good luck to the forum(if mine don't win!).

2 days won't make that much difference. Imagine they'll all stand their ground

It's not the 2 days that matters most.

It's the state of the ground

Waterlogged and raining all day - how much improvement in the ground will that bring in Feb, in 2 days?

                        • Looking out at the rain still coming down this morning, it's still touch and go that they can even race on Tuesday. If they do, there will be plenty of non runners.

                          • As with Ascot and Haydock on Saturday, you'd be concerned horses running in ground this testing so close to their Festival targets, would be their undoing come 3 weeks time.

                            • Hopefully not on Tuesday either and RWF can just go straight to NHC

They must need a race. Why enter/run them otherwise . I'd be more concerned if they do don't run.
