Think you are underestimating Farouk dalene quite a bit tbh

Is RWF really as good as his rating suggests? I'd have him as pretty badly handicapped

think Farouk is actually the better prospect of the two ability wise, though RWF experience may see him win tomorrow

This initially seems like good news for everyone on RWF

However, could they reschedule for sometime next week ?

Yeah seems like good news initially, but I’d be very tempted to cash out on a few positions if he’s declared to run in it if it was rescheduled for next weekend, would only be about 15 days between the two races which surely isn’t good.

          • Great news Navan cancelled. I was ready to cash-out today as 22 days from NHC is too short, especially 3m heavy ground test today.

It is great news for backers but you have to wonder what is going on in Elliots head as declaring the horse was clearly an intent to run, which makes little sense if Cheltenham is the aim.
I’ll cling to the hope that the horse just needs racing to keep him ticking over…

It is a concern. On the other hand he could be taking a leaf out of K.Baileys book

Surely if that's the hope then it might not be such great news though? Think it's a tough one to weigh up to be honest. Don't know what to make of it.

                    • Will be rescheduled, I’d guess they will see how much comes down today then hazard a guess at how quickly it will drain.

You’d expect Tuesday-Thursday thinking about when similar stuff has happened in the past

                        Echo those thoughts Ista.

Throughout the winter I've just got the impression the NHC has been Gordon's plan but not the owners.

It looks and feels like GE wants to go NHC and MOL is simply telling him no, it’s the Irish National. MOL has always shown a massive preference for the Irish National and probably feels like he has unfinished business with the race.

I've had this vibe for a while as well. Hopefully Gordy wins out in the end.

It's a shame the Giggs 'winding down' process is taking so long....

With the storm and rain forecast to continue around Navan through Monday and Tuesday, I wouldn't expect it to be raceable in the next 2 days.

In Ireland they usually rearrange the whole fixture into the next "empty" NH date.

                                Ireland have NH fixtures on
                                Wednesday
                                Thursday

                                this week.

So my guess is that they'd try and rearrange it for

                                this Friday
                                Or
                                next Monday

Whether any horse owners with a NHC entry, want to run in a Grade 2 for GBP18K 1st prize on those days, rather than wait 2 weeks and run in the NHC for 3x plus, prize money is up to them

But I wouldnt think they'd run in both - if they wanted the best chance to win the NHC.
