Faugheen and Kev are right actually. Gigginstown could send both here and have Fury Road and Beacon for the RSA. That's probably the sensible way of splitting them? Fury and Farouk be the most likely to swap if any did imo but even that seems unlikely.
I was hoping he would be. He did come good in March after some abject displays last season but I wanted to see much more today.
I thought he was ok to be honest. Giving the front two 8lbs and the ground was likely a bit quick for him too. If theres soft in the going on day one and back on level terms I can see him narrowing the gap a lot.

The issue for Vanillier will now be jockey booking which is why I wanted him close today. He’s may to get any of the top tier amateurs and that makes such a difference in this race.
Thought Stattler did that pretty nicely, will have a decent enough chance in this but still think RWF will win.
Looks like Gordon wants to get another run into him (he ran 7 times last season, albeit with a bit of a break before the Irish National). His next race will be number 4, with the NHC race 5.
Entered twice next weekend. Hoping he doesn't take up the Irish Gold Cup entry and either has a hard race or puts actual Gold Cup thoughts in their minds. The 2.5 novice chase on the Sunday would be fine. A nice stretch of the legs, outpaced, and possibly gets a lb or two off to keep Grand National ambitions alive.
I'd think Fury Road would be RSA bound (along with Beacon Edge) leaving Farouk and Fred for this.

I agree. Stattler just isn't a horse I warm to. He didn't stay in the AB and looked speedy on debut. The staying question marks go out the window after his performance LTO, but, I I'd have question marks of 6f more up that hill. I can easily see him going off a short priced fav and being added to the enormous heap of short priced Irish favs that go on to achieve nothing in this race. Happens almost every single year in recent years.

Agree 100%. Just because it's trained by Willie doesn't mean it's home and hosed. Run Wild Fred's to lose but an interesting outsider in Pat's Fancy and the trainer has confirmed the plan is to come here.
