I'd forgive OTR for the run. They won't be going that pace in this race and the extra 6f will help. He also has the experience edge over a lot of horses.

No more new stars coming through, I'm struggling to see them having much more impact after this year. Even targeting handicaps may be more difficult if the UK handicapper is more lenient with UK based horses from this year.

Is the 2m7 at Punchestown tomorrow a potential qualifier for this race? Interested in Egality Mans mostly. Looking back, Longhouse Poet won this race last year and I think he was fancied by a few for the NHC but didn't run. Smoking Gun won it the year before and he did run in it.
Cobbler's Way also running but he's been off for such a long time I'm unsure what to expect from him.

Can argue he's overpriced easily i agree.
Highly unlikely but i'd love to see Braeside running here.
However if he continues to lose a length at every fence like at the weekend he will need a lot of luck to win any race

Starting to think they may want to get the mark down for a shot at the Kim muir.
On at 25s only for 1pt, as he's available at 20s seems a no brainer.
Thoughts?

…..given what’s been posted on here, I presume todays beginners Chase at Punchestown over an extended 2m 7f isn’t quite long enough to count as a qualifier for this.
Mullins runs Egality Mans who Sky quote at 22-1 to win today & NHC. I have not heard it mentioned for this & can’t see it listed in the Oddschecker market, 16-1 with Sky, 33-1 365.Last edited by Eggs; 31 December 2021, 09:19 AM.
