  • All, I can confirm the winner of the NHC is Braeside. Please all stick atleast 1pt on to avoid any disappointment.
25/1 available, when Galahad Quest and Braeside go in on the first day, we'll all wish we had the double.

        • As someone who was very much beginning to think the worst if RWF runs tomorrow I found some hope in these words from Elliot in the RP this evening (link at bottom):

"At the moment we're thinking about running Run Wild Fred in the National Hunt Chase and Farouk D'Alene in the Brown Advisory."

It would have been very easy for him to say we have chosen the Ten Up over the NHC before going to Aintree so the fact he indicates the NHC is still on the agenda I take as a significant positive. Still no way out of the woods yet and post race comments tomorrow will be insightful but feeling a bit more hopeful

            Good pull.

The annoying thing is that if he WINS tomorrow, they could switch them?!

I don't know what needs to happen. It's all a bit odd.

Very odd. But then this year has been full of oddities

Yes that is the other risk, although in my head that is the much lesser one compared to going straight to Aintree. Even if he wins tomorrow Gordon knows well that RWF has the perfect characteristics for the NHC so why would you potentially waste such a good dart in the Browns up against much better horses. I still don’t get how much the O’Leary’s pull the strings as I guess they could complicate things in this regard.

                • Farouk should give a decent line on Statler at least.

Can't decide how to play tomorrow's race tbh. Which probably means I won't.

Have added Braeside for NH Chase though so hopefully he goes reasonably well.

I think you do have to just accept that 'they do'.

                    Winner tomorrow, IMO, goes RSA.

If he's within 5 lengths of the winner tomorrow it will be a good run.

Hopefully Farouk wins with the other two in behind.

                      • Adding Braeside after the Codd Piece booking is clearly a must. Even I've done it !

I don't however expect him to get anywhere near RWF who on ratings and all known form should walk the race. Braeside will only just get going when the race is over. For me it'll just be a 'get to know you' between Jockey/Horse. Top 4 will be a great run.

I watched his Cork National run back a couple of times last night and boy did he travel and jump well. Super rhythm he got in and just galloped and stayed. Exactly what you want in a NHC horse. Before the Codd booking id not even looked at him but now I'm hooked. Was concerned by his 'pulled up ' last time but have looked into it and his saddle slipped some way out so that can be ignored. He's a big player and one that will absolutely relish the distance and everything else about the race.

In which case hoping Gordon engineers a similar result to last time with RWF coming second, shame Davy isn’t on board to help deliver that

                            Agreed.

Howver, he'd be playing a VERY dangerous game there wouldn't he.... to the point where it's just not feasible?

                            • RWF will do well not to win easily tomorrow. He's well ahead on ratings and well in weight wise. If he doesn't win then you'd have to question his resolve.

You not worried that if he wins, Gigginstown think he's there best staying chaser and he goes RSA?
