  • Bromley said Mares chase now so hope they stick to the plan, Willie has Stormy and Burning Vic for this it seems.

    • This race is deeper than last year, and she didn't win it last year.... so I can't see her running.

If she did, I don't think 4/1 is standout either....

It's fine, the price is fine, like loads of them are....

Would she go off much shorter? I really, really don't think so.... so it's not a "good" NRNB price IMO

          • Queens Brook:

I know there has been some chat earlier about this mare but for me she is the forgotten one in this race. In fact I really fancy her here & reckon she’s a knocking bet at 14-16s NRNB.

Elliotts’s only entry in this. Has been trained for this target all year, as stated in his RP stable tour at the start of the season. Happy to see CDN go & win his next 2 & the form with Lunar Display look decent. That one ran well behind the 2 of Willies in the Solerina & I think the third Say Goodbye will run well at the DRF next weekend. Crucially this mare is notoriously difficult to get hard fit so working back from one key target in March I feel she’ll be A1 on the day. The old course suits with her only course run behind none other than Ferny Hollow & Appreciate It. I think she’ll power up the hill & win this like a top class mare.

Looks like one who’ll capture imagination on the preview circuit & can only see her price shortening.

Put my money where my mouth is & had a chunky ew bet & inc in all early multiples ante post & nrnb.

            • I have spent some time going through the Mares hurdle this morning and totally agree with Splinterboy82 assessment of Queens Brook who must have a serious chance in the race. I can see her hopefully have a prep run in the Quevega mares at Punchestown on 23rd February (A big thank you to Saxon Warrior for his work on this race) to ensure full fitness before taking this race. An excellent bet at 14/1 NRNB.

With Queens Brook, she's rated 131 in Ireland so you'd expect 134-136 here for the Coral Cup. To win the Mares she's need to be around a stone better than her rating (Telmesomethinggirl is rated 11 pound higher in Ireland).

Do you not think they'd go for the Coral Cup instead?

Not a race I've particularly spent much time on but I'll have a look at her races today

                • Thank you Denmansacre, a schoolboy error on my part. I went through all the form but then did not check the rating on Queens brook. Cashed out for no loss and will now calm down and look deeper into other races for her. Thanks again.

Sorry noticed a typo on my post - TMSG is 11 pounds higher so the Mares Hurdle isn't completely out of the question. But if they think she is good enough to win or place in the Mares, the Coral Cup may also be under consideration as she'd have plenty in hand.

99.9% sure she’ll run in the Mares. When Elliott highlights one from the start of the season, he seldom switches agenda unless the horse says otherwise. She’ll face 8-10 mares in a G1 or 24+ in a hcap that’ll be won by a well treated novice. Be surprised if she even gets a hcap entry tbh - just my take for what it’s worth…

                      • I'm agreeing with Splinterboy82 on this. Queens Brook beat Ciel De Neige 4L getting 11lb who is rated 140 and in doing so was still not fit ( Elliott words). Ciel then went chasing and as won both races since. With a fit Queens brook at Cheltenham I can see the horse with a big chance in the Mares. A good e/way bet NRNB for me.

                        • She's probably a backable price in both races NRNB. If you fancy her for the Mares you must think she's chucked in in the handicap. Might as well cover the option tbh...

Her last run was probably a career best and at levels she’d probably have been beaten by CDN. CDN would have no chance in the mares hurdle. Can talk about that festival bumper all you want but flats and hurdles is a completely different ball game and she’s no mission on her hurdles form. Should be 3 times the price she is
