  • Can't speak for others but the risk of her not running due to goodish ground has been my reason for not getting her in the book as an antepost proposition. I think she gets run off her feet in a fast paced decent ground 2.5 mile race, and lacks tactical speed in a big field. Both of those scenarios are quite likely so she's not on my radar at the moment. Soft ground and she's in the book though.

Entirely your prerogative but she beat TMSG and HHU over 2m2f on Good/Yielding.

And the quickest going on Day 1 will be Good/Soft.

I've got RK covered at very nice prices but am worried connections may be tempted by the Stayers.

Archie keeps reminding us, and now I am.
Thats why she's ground dependant and unlikely to run unless it's genuinely Soft ground.

They say G/S but times on the first day over many years suggest that it's quicker than that. It certainly wouldn't be soft enough for her

Fair enough but Telme was giving her 10 lbs and was 9 lengths behind and HHU made a horlicks of two out.
They have both improved a lot since that race so I wouldn't read too much into it.
All RK's races this season have been 8 or 9 runner affairs in Ireland, just think she will struggle to replicate her form at Cheltenham. Both HHU and Telme have already won at the Festival previously so no doubts on that score.

              As ever time will tell.

              • Why do people always say the ground will be quickest/softest etc on a certain day? Have they got advanced notice of the weather forecast?

New Clerk this year too worth remembering. Unlikely that he’ll change tack completely but he has been calling the same ground a notch up the spectrum i.e. what was previously soft, he’s calling good to soft etc. Going sticks on turftrax back it up if you take those at face value

I believe it is mandated that the Festival start on no better than Good to Soft on the grounds of horse welfare. Now, obviously it can be worse than that but if you’re looking for good ground you won’t get it on the first day no matter what the weather.

This also concerns me. The lead man in the syndicate ran the Brave Inca group so he's well used to aiming high.

Maybe NRNB for both races is the way to go.

They won't decide til final decs prob....so good chance you can layoff and switch to NRNB as Archie says when more bookies go and prob better prices

10/1 normal market and 3/1 NRNB

slightly better 4s with hills and you can boost that. its a cover bet at this stage but xoncertista will not be that price if she comes here

                            • I've had a little tickle on concertista for this race. I understand she probably won't come here, but a proper player if she does. As always, I'm the outlier on this forum.

I think a lot of people will cover her with the NRNB for this race. It wouldn't be that surprising to see her come here instead of the Mare's Chase.
