I think Martello Sky will turn out to be the best of the British. Think she’s improved for the step up to 2m4f - winning a listed race at Cheltenham last April & winning against the geldings today very easily 1st time out giving weight away all round.

But it adds to the color of the race if she comes back over to where she started from, so bring it on, she deserves a crack at the race, and she has won gbp200K in three wins over there.Last edited by Saxon Warrior; 20 October 2021, 05:33 PM."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

Backed her at 50/1 before she won the grade 1. The 2 miles in the Novice race wasn’t for her and all happened a bit quick but stayed on well for 4th. Her run in the Galway hurdle wasn’t very good but she was left at the start and never jumped fluently. Hopefully comes back from her break as good as last season and can see her playing an each way part at least.

Not sure if this has already been discussed or not on here, but does anyone think epatante might go for this?
I havent heard the possibility of this mentioned much by anybody, and I havent heard any quotes from henderson talking about it or the possibility of epatante even going up in trip at anytime, but it just struck me as a real option.
By the sounds of some quotes ive heard from henderson he doesnt really fancy his chances of turning around the form with honeysuckle, so presuming honeysuckle makes it to cheltenham, this race would be an apealing alternative wouldnt it?
looking at the current betting for the mares, if epatante went down this route and was in the same form she was in last season i'd say theres a good chance she'd go off odds on on the day, unless theres a real improver from one of last seasons novices.
The one real stumbling block I can see is jp mcmanus, I dont think he'd duck a rematch with honeysuckle to run in a lesser race, so the only chance I see of this happening is if another churdle contender makes the step up for him this season, maybe saint roi or elixir dainay, which at the moment doesnt look very likely but its possible.
Not something im rushing to back but just a thought that crossed my mind, as on all known form I think connections would view this race as a penalty kick for her.

In theory I think it’s a decent shout too for giving connections a winner compared to going up against Honeysuckle again.
But I reckon they would fancy their chances of aiming to reverse the Sharjah form this season. And one mishap with Honeysuckle then opens the race up again.
A few years ago they would have ruled the longer trip out completely but she’s began to settle through her races now and I don’t think that would be an issue anymore.
The exchange could be the best option I’d say.
you could likely sneak a big price.
Otherwise I think as soon as she were to be added into the mares hurdle by a bookmaker, it would be a shorter price that warranted imo.
You touch on JP which I agree with. And the fact that Henderson has absolutely no novices coming through into the race. I struggle to see either them change the target. If she did, you’d think she’d have shown such a downturn of form that you probably couldn’t fancy her for any race at the festival.

Unfortunately, Betfair exchange is worse than most bookmaker's for their antepost lists, and they don't add nothing I suggest/request.
Considering it's an exchange, I'm not sure exactly why they are so poor and outdated with their listings.

I love thinking laterally about these things, and it can pay off, but I just don't see any way this happens.
JP will absolutely want her in the Champion Hurdle. If she's back on her A game she only has Honeysuckle in her way unless Willie sends Ferny Hollow.Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Have been watching Day 2 back from this years festival and notably the Coral Cup. Heaven Help Us bolted up in that race (off 138 albeit with a claimer) and as now rated 144. Which is the same rating that Black Tears finished second to Dame De C the previous year. Black Tears then went on to win the Mares Hurdle this year off 148.I dont think HHU is too far behind that so the 33/1 with PP has tempted me into a good EW bet.
I think HHU is better than 144 to be honest, at least 3 or 4 lbs. Now i dont know if this is the target but worth a pop at 33/1. They did run her in the Grade 1 that Klassical Dream won at Punchestown after Cheltenham where she ran an ok race but it shows maybe they have a bit bigger target this year. We also know she handles the track and actually finished a running on 7th in the Supreme won by Shiskin after having no luck in running at all.
