I agree that Concertista is almost the forgotten horse for his. If she was going to drop in trip for shot at the Champion Hurdle it would have been last season, so I'd say if you don't think she wins this (very possible to my mind), she's at least rock solid a place. She was only just touched off by Black Tears after a momentum stopping mistake at the last, so she sets the bar for the newcomers to meet and beat. She also but up a 4lb higher rating in winning her Mares Novice Hurdle than Telmesomethinggirl did last season. So TMSG has an improvement gap to bridge.
Whilst I respect TMSG's chance, and she may be capable of finding the improvement for the extra distance, Shewearsitwell is the bigger danger if she comes here in my opinion. She equalled Concertista's Mares Novice Hurdle rating in only her third lifetime race. Not only that she beat a 141 rated hurdler 8 lengths completely unextended. She could have won double that distance if she were allowed. Her Royal Bond entry before her setback wasn't fanciful, and she's exciting. The trouble is we're told she has another 'niggle', so from a punting perspective she comes with a health warning.
At this stage if they all turn up fit and well I'd say 1st Shewearsitwell, 2nd Concertista, 3rd Telmesomethinggirl. I reserve the right to change my mind though.
Shewearsitwell is in full training Not injured .Someone has posted on Twitter that she is out for season, this tweet was forwarded to James Fenton manager of the syndicate, who has replied to it .
Would Gauloise disappointing here in the mares novice worry you? Didn't run any sort of race.
Yes and No, she was travelling well until the last few furlongs and faded up the hill. She is powerful horse on looks so my guess was it was the increase in pace from the front caught her out and the occasion and the extra half mile of the Mares hurdle may suit her more. It is a gamble but she finished her next race Fairyhouse over 2m4f much better losing by half a length by Skyace but pulling 10 lengths in front of 3rd. I think she will be a better and stronger horse this season and I hope they keep her over hurdles
I have what I believe will be the top 3 in the market come the festival (Swiw, TMSG, Gauloise) if they get to the race. I was disappointed on more than one occasion last season with Gauloise but looked reinvigorated at Punchestown which Mullins attributed to working her harder. Taken at face value, if he carries that on then she's one to have on board even if she's my personal least likely of the three aforementioned to win.

Mullins quote after her Punchestown race....
“she was very good. I was disappointed with her in Cheltenham and I've been expecting a performance like that out of her all year.
“I think I probably wasn't hard enough on her. I was quite hard on her coming here and it seems to have paid off.
“She's a tough mare and is probably tougher than a lot of mares. I think she's going to improve away next season.
“I thought early on in her career she could be top class and now I think she's back on track again.
“I'm delighted for Kenny Alexander and she's another nice mare to add to his portfolio.
“I'd say she's crying out for another half mile. That was a searching pace there and Paul wasn't going to let the one in front away.
“Even when she looked outbattled at the second last she came out around then. Paul thought she was idling going to the last and she ducked out to the right, which she's done before when she's hit the front, but that's a sign that there is plenty left in the tank.”

Mares Hurdle it is.
Yes, another race where Punchestown brought out a pathway to a Festival race this season.

That’s made my Friday morning a lot cheerier, thanks Lobos
